nLite & RVMi disks don't include all folders found in the MS source

MSFN's Unattendeed Windows guide has more information. If you'd like to keep them, you can always leave the "Destination" field of RVMi blank. Thanks for the suggestion about how to retain all the folders in a build. From your reply, and the others, it doesn't look like there will be many situation...

nLite & RVMi disks don't include all folders found in the MS source: wh

Keep in mind that this is a question, not a criticism. Since I've been thinking about "missing files," I mounted the ISO of my MS source, and noticed for the first time that it contains several folders that are not included in an RVM Integrator disk: DOCS, DOTNETFX, SUPPORT, VALUEADD. I also checked...

Re: RE: XP Repair Install with RVM Integrator disks: why one success, one f

Extract Update Pack and see in entries.ini, only those are the changes that Update Pack tells the nLite\RVMi to edit in CD OK. I understand. Checking entries.ini is what told you that the files that were "supposedly" missing during my 2nd Repair Install are not files that were updated by the OnePie...

Re: RE: XP Repair Install with RVM Integrator disks: why one success, one f

Read/Write issues are often hardware related specifically SYSTEM memory errors........... 8) That couldn't have been the case here. Both Repair Installations were carried out on the same machine within about 2 hours of each other, so all hardware was the same for both trials. Only the partition was...

Re: RE: XP Repair Install with RVM Integrator disks: why one success, one f

I had 14 errors in the first 8% of the file copy process. Among those I made notes on were: blue_SS.dll; classic.the; compatws.inf; dgnet.inf; dnary.mdb;evntrprv.mof; hhctrlvi.dll; and hisecoc.inf.upon? is simple you will notice immediately that these files do not update\touch\edit the update pack,...

RE: XP Repair Install with RVM Integrator disks: why one success, one fail?

a fast test in a XP VM with desktop repair install (the most "sensitive" one) gave no issues at all. Could you retry with a Nlite integration and see if you have same problems? In this case, we need names of every file giving you errors so we can investigate I'd never be able to give you "names of ...

XP Repair Install with RVM Integrator disks: why one success, one failure?

A repair install using an updated CD should cause no problems at all I'm puzzled by the results of my first two experiments. Your "prophecy" was correct once, but not on a second trial. Based on my first repair, I apparently have a nearly perfect DVD after using RVM Integrator to merge OnePiece upd...

RE: Using RVM Integrator disks for XP Repair Install started from XP

. . . as "repair install" I mean the one you can run booting from CD and not Winnt32.exe installation, in other words manually executing from desktop of a running system. [If you start the repair after booting into XP], you can have some problems if UpdatePack has been integrated in your XP source ...

RE: Using an RVM Integrator disk for a Windows XP Repair Install

I started with an XP Pro w/SP2 CD as the source, slipstreamed it with SP3 and created a 'new' XP w/SP3 source. I use this as my source for creating a 'new' XP Pro w/SP3 ISO using the RyanVM Integrator and the latest Update Pack . . . .Once all this is done I then create a new ISO file, burn a CD/DV...

Using an RVM Integrator disk for a Windows XP Repair Install

@ user_hidden i just posted the following comment in a thread about nonno fabio's "Onepiece EN-US Windows XP Post-SP3 All-in-One Update Pack" (http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=133843#133843). RVM Integrator: required version is now unavailable for download

@ user_hidden Your opening post in this thread states that "You can integrate this using RVMi v1.6.1 b2.1 and higher or nlite 1.4.9.1." Several other Packs make the same statement about the Integrator version required. Unfortunately, following the link provided by every poster leads to a page that n...

The burn wasn't at fault because the file was not in the integrated source from which the burn was made.

The integration was done with the 1.5.3 integrator. No addons or other packs were involved in the integration.

The NT5Inf.cat appears in the source i386 folder in expanded form. It does not appear anywhere in the integrated resultant set in either compressed or expanded form.

"Fatal error" involving NT5Inf.cat

I found no mention of this problem when using Google to search the site for the file referenced above, so I am opening a new thread. I used the latest integrator to integrate the RyanVM Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.2.2 - Released April 27, 2008 into an XP SP2 source. The build and burning went smoothly, b...
