It is written in C# and needs Visual Studio 2010 to compile (but it targets .NET 2.0 so it runs on .NET 2.0 and upwards).

Actually, MS updated the article and changed the x64 hotfix. The new one seems to work properly with the current slipstreamer.

The new file is: WindowsMedia11-KB2378111-x64-ENU.exe (dfecc3533634989d87e55dfe7d00aa58)

hidec does not display the flashing console window before running something hidden, while this one does.
I don't know if hidec.exe can hide other console windows or not, but this one does.

Using one over the other is a matter of preference.

Sorry, but I don't have time to work on this utility (and haven't had much time lately), so this utility has been discontinued.

A built-in function of the RVM Integrator (as of 1.6) does the same thing and is supported and updated by Siginet (this hasn't been updated in a very long time).

Yes, I meant that one.

Since code keeps it reasonably updated and due to my lack of time, I stopped updating this one.
His addon integrates the runtimes in exactly the same method as this one (which is actually based on an old version of his addon).

Note that this is now outdated, I recommend that you use code's Microsoft Runtimes as it includes all of this and C++ 2005 runtimes as well.

If you integrate redxii's pack and then run the slipstreamer and pass the wmp11 version of that hotfix with the hotfixes, it will handle overwriting the files affected in question correctly. WMP11Slipstreamer does not touch hive infs or any of the ie files. It and IE7's operations are completely mutually exclusive. It doesn't matter which is done first.

(Unless rvm integrator has a bug and corrupts the files when it integrates ie7)

No actually, I spent months on IniParser so that that would never happen, and if it does then it is a bug and I must fix it. Try integrating wmp11 over and over on the same source and see if you get double entries anywhere.
