Thanks I just installed 20131008 in VMWare with no problems, and then synchronized new system files (and catroot) with my host XP install. Windows XP is still the best!

Yes, DirectX 10+ is another factor that has pushed PC gamers away from XP.

But it's almost a pointless cause (besides some better graphics, and more profits for MS) because most games actually run slower on Vista anyway..

Using this to build a UBCD (BartPE) as we speak. The updates should make it much more secure for surfing the web and such.

Make sure to verify the hashes. I use hashtab.

I used CAB Tool. Right-click on the folder > Send to... Cab Tool

Easy as pie.

BTW, there are links to Cab Tool in the tutorials on this forum.

You stated all you basically did was remove entries and delete files, but if thats the case how come LgtCkCtl.dl_ checksum is different than that of the one in RyanVMs update pack?
