To put it plainly: it replaces .Net framework 1.0 (meaning, if you install this, .Net 1.0 is gone) , and also it makes sure it installs (Windows XP Home/Pro doesn't install .Net by default - but Tablet PC Edition and Media Center Edition do). An unfortunate effect is that at least the TPC software w...

Okay, put the note there... SP3 edition of tabletpc.inf does that by itself - a file with those exact contents gets copied as Copy2gac.exe.config in the %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705 folder. Apparently, that's not good enough. Strange enough, I didn't know 1.1 was not downwards compatib...

Integrating into a Tablet PC 2005 SP3 source breaks the TabletPC input panel. I've noticed tabletpc.inf copies a .cfg as copy2gac.config in the framework folder, however copy2gac is missing from (this) the 1.1 package.
Any ideas?

I didn't get around to testing 2.0.2 with the integrator and to compare its results against nLite, but nonetheless, version 2.0.3 works. What changed? And no, I am not integrating XP SP3. I'm quite curios. My seed XP kit is quite "customized", but I don't see what could do funky stuff. If it might m...

Version 2.0.2, when integrated by nLite, does for me really spooky things, such as setup hanging at the saving settings . Will test standalone, but if it still fails... Wouldn't it be simpler to have, as it were, a version for the Integrator and one for fans of nLite? P.S. Tested with nLite versions...

I don't think this problem is related to the Update Pack; it seems more likely to be related to drivers themselves. I've had the same problem quite often, in VMware. That is, if I start doing things (Heroes III, Maxthon, WinAMP etc) while Windows is detecting drivers (inside the VM), I've always had...

You need REG_EXPAND_SZ

For %var%s to be guaranteed to work in file paths/names, the registry key must be of type REG_EXPAND_SZ instead of REG_SZ. These show in .reg's as hex(2), for example, a REG_EXPAND_SZ value named "asd" with a value of "qwe" would show like "asd"=hex(2):71,77,65,00 while a REG_SZ value with same name...

new WGA (1.5) notes

There's a few details to settle with the latest WGA, to allow for integration with either nLite or RVMIntegrator. First of all, you need to patch the header of LegitCheckControl.dll to announce an OS version of 5.1 (it has, by default, 6.0 - which is VISTA). Failure to do so leads to Setup complaini...
