Re: Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4

Let we hope that @harkaz will release new version of its 'Service Pack 4' that will include all updates/hotfixes released till April 9, 2019 - the EOL date of Windows XP Embedded which is the last EOL of all other XP-based OSes. I concur, but as there has been no "reliable and smart KernelEx" devel...

Re: 5eraph's post-SP2 Update Pack v2015-07_1

I'm not sure, so I put "Opera 64-bit" browser in quotes. A third party offshoot? I was hoping for feedback from experienced XP x64 users before I install it on my final build, because I had never heard of it before. I mentioned it over on msfn, too, but no one has picked up on it yet. I thought it m...

Re: 5eraph's post-SP2 Update Pack v2015-07_1

5eraph, I just used your Update Pack and Add-on with nLite for my first-ever install of 64-bit XP. The installation went smoothly, including my usual softwares, as well as access to Microsoft Update. The Avast anti-virus online installer worked perfectly, and I will be experimenting with this “Opera...

@OnePiece, I am disappointed to read this as I'm sure many others are, as well. Hopefully an opportunity will provide itself in the future, as XP seems to be very much alive and well, and probably will be for some time to come (especially in light of the shortcomings of its successors). Best wishes.

Atari800xl, your five “Supersededâ€￾ lists kb3087039 twice; are we missing one, or is it only four?

I have now completed a test install using SP4 v3.1a, and can report that all went well.

I loaded XP SP2 into nLite and left all buttons green, but used only Service Pack (for SP4), Drivers (for chipset “driversâ€￾ and AHCI Z97 driver) and unattended (for key etc.).

No problems at all. Nice work, harkaz, thank you.

You are right, Atari800xl, definitely a rewarding experience, and I was surprised at how easy it was to use DXUPAC. I don’t know all the ins and outs of Windows updates, so I’m a little curious as to why the two sets of updates differ, yet either way we achieve “zero WUâ€￾ (as nonno put it back on page one of this thread). Given the success of either method, I don’t think I will lose any sleep over it.

I tested UpdatePack 1.07 and DXUPAC 1.2.3.4 (never having used DXUPAC before) and would like to share the results here… I created XP Pro install DVD using UpdatePack 1.07 and nLite, installed the operating system, applied the POS registry mod and ran Windows Update, which listed 32 critical update...

Hello OnePiece, I just wanted to post here to thank you for your XP Post-SP3 All-in-One Update Pack, which I’ve used for almost two years now without a single problem. I’m pleased that you have returned with version 1.07, and what a bonus your new DXUPAC 1.2.3.4 provides, so that we can make our...
