This could work only if the WMP metadata service was based on CDDB, but I doubt this is the case. Can't say the IE useragent method won't work, though (check rel: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/63319375/change-user-agent-string-in-ie-11 , it's for IE11 but chances are it will work for IE8 too)...

I discovered that spmsgXP_2k3.dll is really the same module as spmsg.dll except that it was released two years earlier, and has a different version number. I have removed spmsgXP_2k3.dll and amended entries.ini and KMDF.inf accordingly.
