Are Onepiece's .Net Addons (see link below) compatible with XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack? If so, can you just use a GDR addon or is GDR+QFE combination required, as explained in the first post here:

Re: XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 20180109

Is there a way to update Microsoft Root Certificates manually instead of doing it with Microsoft Updates in IE8? I prefer to download and install all updates manually from Microsoft Update Catalog. However, the last root certificates updates available are from 2006 for W2K. Another item not availabl...

Re: Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4

Abodi makes a real good dotnet installer, it installs all of them. I think that using Abodi's installer you can also install just a single version of .NET, if you choose so, using command line parameters. I can't find the link explaining that at the moment, but all the parameters should be shown if...

Re: [Addon] Internet Explorer 8 for 32-bit XP 1.5.36

Is there any utility that can automatically remove all KB files and associated registry entries related to IE8 upddates? I have Acronis partition image backups to use in case of any problems after an update and never perform any update rollbacks using those KB files (Add or Remove Programs). The fol...

Re: XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 20171010

I would like to add .Net v3.5 to my base XP installation CD, which was built using the following three packages and has .NET completely removed with nLite: XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack_10-10-17.7z XPSP3_QFE_POSReady_Addon_20171222_5er.7z YumeYao_IE8_Addon_Clean_ENU_1.5.36.7z The following packages have been...

Re: XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 20171010

I'm using a VL copy of Windows XP Pro SP3. MD5: 66AC289AE27724C5AE17139227CBE78C01EEFE40 SHA-1: 66AC289AE27724C5AE17139227CBE78C01EEFE40 Volume label: GRTMPVOL_EN Is that supported? Re: XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 20171010

I managed to integrate this pack, as well as the POSReady pack , using nLite 1.4.9.3. You should also consider including IE8 for integration, it might come in handy even if you don't intend to use it as a primary web browser. Otherwise your system will have IE6 installed. I think IE8 is needed to r...

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20171128

I don't trust MS Update website and would prefer to install the updates manually. At this stage there are not too many of them so it should be easy to do. Can someone please confirm that my procedure is correct, I have never used MS Update Catalog before. My XP has just been built using the packages...

Re: Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4

Thanks. I have always been wondering if .Net installation can be somehow disabled natively, without turning to any third party applications like nLite. I can also see a few other useful items in OC-PATCHES folder (BitLocker To Go, PowerShell, Windows Search). What is: WMPOCM-OFF Does this just disab...

Re: Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4

GH0st: USP4 runs best when you do not remove any of the components. Don't remove a thing or select any options [in nLite] Thanks. It sounds like a good advice. GH0st: You didn't need to remove .Net, but to run the OPTIMIZATION for it, which is included in Harkaz's notes According to the SIDE NOTES ...

Re: Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4

I have replaced Harkaz's USP4 with XPSP3 QFE Update Pack and everything works ok now, there is nothing missing. I have actually removed even more components and made more tweaks in nLite than I originally did with USP4. More details are in the post dated 2017-Sep-20 here: http://www.msfn.org/board/t...

Re: Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4

Has anyone successfully used nLite with USP4? I have run into problems with multiple components missing, as described here:
