Re: [Addon] Microsoft Runtime Libraries Collection(x86) 2.0.7
You are very thorough Zephyr I admire your perseverance as of recent. I seek old Runtime addon pack to determine if whether it will solve this error not previously encountered while making nlited XP images... https://i.ibb.co/60hxxjg/untitled.png A quick google suggests this is because the app seeks...

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
Thanks for your repsonses.
I have always used SP2 ISo and integrated SP3 without problems previously (using nlite).
I will give integrator a try.
BTW
The reason i dont use online ISO is because my key never works with them. Perhaps Im doing something wrong. I just have standard XP PRo SP2 CD.

Re: [Addon] XPSP3 QFE POSReady Updates 20180917
I tried a test install, integrated XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack + XPSP3_QFE_POSReady_Addon with nlite. There seems to be a problem with KS.SYS. It is inside XPSP3_QFE_POSReady_Addon.7z, upon succesful slipstream into SP3 image, KS.SYS is missing from final image. The only mention of "ks.sys" online is this ...

Re: copying certain files to usb hangs PC?
IT turns out that what OP describes is default behavior with files that are small enough in size. Alas, a leading indicator used in benchmark software is the transfer of 4kb or thereabout, sized files.

Incredible work! all those hyperlinks must of taken a long time!! If user integrates these updates with nlite then removes components after the fact also with nlite, will (already-tested) nlite presets work as otherwise expected? Correct me if I am wrong, this is order of updates to integrate to SP2...

Hi
@Dibya, what packages did you include in the IE8 addon in the end out of curiosity?
A seperate curiosity is if IE8 addon supersedes IE7 entriely. I noted one IE7-targeted updates coming as late as 2013, is it likely this is included in this IE8 addon?
MS really make a mess of things.

Try to run Mini Update Tool see what that reports (gooogle it) .... seperately ..... Ok so, for instance regarding DXUPAC.exe addon creator, these are some observations: When one selects under "Programs you want to create: WindowsXP Post-SP3 Update Pack" Only "Update Pack" is an option under "choose addon type". 68mb of files are input - Upon completion, the output is a 13.1mb PostS...

Please I am unfamiliar with add on creation and I'm sure someone inclined in this can do it on 'no time' or that someone may be interested in such a pack. Whats differs .7z from .cab addons?
Hi
As the title implies, whats the difference as far as integrating with nlite is concerned?
In any case is nlite the best method
Also what is a True addon?
I'm familiar with unnattended installs but renetly dabbled with integrating packs.
cheers

when oneadds hotfixes using nlite, is it normal that the iso grows considerably in size? Theres an option called Direct hotfix Integraton one would assume newer files replace older ones without adding weight to the ISO?

POS2009/XP embedded Hotfix question
Do these sucesfully integrate like traditional KB hotfixes if using nlite or any other inegrator?
also, is it more recommended to use nlite or another integrator to do that? I mean these embedded hotfixes are much newer than the latest nlite for XP.

I didn't realise a USB stick consumed 300mA of power. Bloody weird I tell ya

It happens on all USB drives.
An alt. nlite install with BITS intact concludes its not culpable, however I suspect another, also absent service
Performance Logs and Alerts service, may be.
I shall make image with this installed and see. Expect report within a day.

zipfldr.dll shouldn't matter, the problem is copying files in a regular folder.
The files were not compressed with zip to begin with fyi, I just compressed them to test, i.e. when zipped, same files transfer faster than if they aren't. Explorer is doing something funny...

Whats the easiest way to do this with nlite? I looked over some addon maker tutorials but theyre long winded for something I'm sure can be much simpler.
Does nlite support adding .infs? (they are not drivers, but something else).
