Before you start, you need to extract both the OEM product key and certificate from your running OS. The key is NOT the key on the sticker. Google search for "extract key from windows 7" Or use Everest (now AIDA64) to recover the key. Google search for "extract windows 7 oem certificate" to find the...

Re: RE: Using an RVM Integrator disk for a Windows XP Repair Install
- if you opt to use DriverPacks you must make one edit before you create the ISO or a Repair Install won't work. When DriverPacks finishes go to the created \System32 folder and edit as follows: WINNT.SIF - delete the following three lines after Driver Packs is run but before an ISO file is created...

For all official hotfixes/updates you want this one. XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 There are only 2 updatepacks that are being updated on this forum, the above is the best in my opinion. The other is stickied and made by Onepiece. It includes everything but the kitchen sink. You've be...

The answer you seek can be found by polling the registry also instead of using WMIC (which can be slow). Here's the batch script code I use in my SAD2 DriverPacks script. It can be altered to look for "CurrentVersion" instead. :OS-check FOR /F "tokens=2*" %%A IN ('REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\...

Geez, you guys need to learn how to request updates properly!
How about: Please update ABC.exe to version 1.123 from http://www.blah.com/update.
You need to be specific with the update request, and provide links to the requested update!
All this "me too!" crap is likely ignored.

One thing to remember is that just because a file is listed in the [SourceDisksFiles] section does NOT mean that file gets installed, it means it's available to the system at the time of install if it needs it. The [CopyFiles*.blah] sections are where the files are actually copied to the system. Jus...

Does DriverGrabber query the system arch before grabbing? The only reason I ask is that may be a factor in it not grabbing certain files. If an .inf has sections for both x86 and amd64 and there are files named blah32.dll or blah64.dll for each section respectively, and the drivers are installed on ...

Sorry to dig up this old topic but I think you guys are confusing CPU bit-ness with OS bit-ness. We still have unaccounted-for CPU/OS scenarios. SET "xOS=x64"& IF /I "%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%"=="x86" (IF NOT DEFINED PROCESSOR_ARCHITEW6432 SET "xOS=x86") ECHO %xOS% Example: WinXP (32-bit) run on AMD6...

Maybe one combined method, checking PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE and plus, checking for %windir%\SysWOW64\cmd.exe will approach to the desired 100%. Yes, there is no one check that would conclusively identify the OS "bit-ness". Checking for the presence of the syswow64 folder makes the identification abo...

Ah, but %PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE% only detects the arch of the CPU. What if you have a 32-bit OS on a 64-bit CPU? I use: :PROCESSOR :: Detects host OS type on running system. Assumes 32-bit unless 64-bit components are present. SET "ARCHP=x86" IF EXIST "%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64" SET "ARCHP=x64" The sysw...

Botus is correct. Driverpacks integrated with the BASE app don't play well with "repair" or Win32 initiated installs. If that's the route you want to take, then I'd suggest having a separate XP build just for repair installs (with no DriverPacks) and use our SAD2 utility instead post-install. Sorry ...

As far as I know, the DriverPacks BASE app does not delete SP3.cab. It does however make changes to both the txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf files (after they're backed up to *.org). Is it possible that you made a change to the source after integrating the driverpacks and ran the BASE app again (this woul...
