well i have gotten it to fail using ryan's pack as far back 2.0.2a. beyond that have not gone back any further.

i have used both. look back at old posts. much good info in the rest of this topic. we have tried SCS 3.0 - 3.1 with various SCS maintenance patches. to try and determine if it has anything to do with certain builds of SCS.

that failed for me. i had to go to and older build of windows i made from feb to get no black screens. also had to use SCS 3.0 to get noblack screen.

yeah well the most thorough thing to do would be to do them 1by1 so gonna take much time.

to me it seems like either something getting removed, system file overwritten, windows updates????? cuz zero problems with a virgin xp sp2 and SCS

well wga notifications works fine. no black screens with it. so out goes my idea of it causing the problem.

well in my personal experience i alwasy installed SCS first. mainly because if i did it created weird problems later.

well i use many addons made bymyself and from the forums. the only thing that is new and seems to be causing this for me is WGA notifcation in combination with SCS. i tried an build with just ryan's pack and wga notification, SCS 3.1-3.0.2 and got same thing. BLACK SCREEN. did that using ryans packs...

now with SCS 3.1 or SCS 3.0.2 black screen unless i use build from feb 2006 with wga notification. that build uses ryans 2.0.2a. removbe wga notificatins on that build and SCS 3.1 does not work but SCS 3.0.2 does work and no black screen.

well at least we know we are getting this randomly with various integrators. now finding out whcich update does not like SCS and any other program. WGA notification causes black screen for sure. yet there are other updates that also do this. ????????

what i would like to know is what is everyone using to make there xp cds?
i mainly use n-lite somtimes ryan's integrator.

well i went back as far as 2.0.1 ryan's. installed Symantec Client Security 3.1 rebooted and fine. put the wga notifications and fine. then updated a wireless card driver then black screen. rebooted into safemode, disabled SCS from starting boots fine. removed SCS 3.1 boots fine. then i tried SCS 3....

okay i did a vmware install with a custom xp cd from 2.28.06. a stable nlite build. installed SCS 3.1 all is good. then i do windows updates get the wga notifcation. then bam black screen. i remove it them bam works fine. well black screen with ryan's 2.0.1 and SCS 3.1. now i know it is not wga. no wga in 2.0.1. so i am sure ryan's pack and SCS can work fine, they have before. narrowing it down to which addon may take awhile.
