One possible reason is that after using RVMI, it combined driver.cab and sp3.cab into one driver.cab file.

It is also possible that some obsolete files are being removed by the update pack.

Thank you for the reply,I'll get working on it. If a beta SP3 had been installed - what would you use to un-install it or would you have to reinstall SP2 all over again then the SP3? If it is slipstreamed into your source then installed, there is no "uninstall", you would have to do a fresh install...

incomplete because if you look there is a file in ther called usedelta..... That tells it to only update files in the old sp with files in the new sp, so it does not incled all SP3 flies, only changed ones, that is what makes it tridky slipstreaming.... i will have aupdate latere that hads the files...

Right now I don't remember where it was I read it - but I seem to remember that XP SP3 will not slipstream to and update an XP with no SP CD - the user must have an SP1 or SP2 source. :( it won't as it comes from MS (well, RC2 anyway.. all prior releases have), but I'm tryin to beat that ;) updates...

All builds prior to 3311 used the same KB number, so it was difficult to determine which build you were truly getting, even after 3300 was released, the website still (erroneously) listed it as 3264.

Cyber, glad you got the problem gone, even if you can't elaborate on the cause.

Cause and what was done to elliviate it would be nice, but sometimes it just doesn't happen that we can pinpoint exactly what happened to make it go away.

News, I also have never personally had the time zone issue, it seem to be when ppl set specific time zones via winnt.sif. I only created the update pack to repair issues others were seeing. There are also January updates out, the pack i referred to in my previous post was not my time zone addon pack...

Cyber, can you do me a favor and edit registry, search for kabul, see what all locations it shows up in.

I want to check if it is in fact in more than one location, or if something else is corrupting you registry.

One thing that stands out to me, which will mess up the Time Zone index is that every time zone is listed twice in your list..... I will see if I can fix something up for you.

Ryan, didn't mean to step on your toes, I just noticed that not all of the registry changes are implemented via your inf file is all.

There does seem to be an issue with MS's update nonetheless.

Rick, if you update this for build 3244 note that the files in WSUS 3.0 are older than in that build, so they will need to be removed or a check added to prevent overwriting older files.

I personally used Nlite to create a shrunk and tweaked windows, then as driver packs and updates/addons are released, i only have to apply them to that version.

Of course, i have a ShrunkWindows ISO, just extract it, use Integrator, then DriverPacks... works flawlessly for me.
