So basically, an svcpack T-13 installer is more recommended than integration/slipstreaming it? Well, only if you want to uninstall IE7. But I can't think of any reason to do this. The same happens if you have SP2 with IE7 and install SP3. After that IE7 can't be uninstalled. No problem if you ask me.

Darn fishy if ya ask me. But then, MS does not ask me. Maybe if someone ever has the time, they can determine what the difference is between a SP0->SP3 install and a SP1a->SP3 install. Yeah, I agree it seems a bit odd. But people actually compared SP0->SP3, SP1->SP3 and SP2->SP3. You can find it on...

Atleast SP1 is required to install SP3. There are no service pack requirements to slipstream SP3. Just to clarify I read this correctly, I can slipstream XP SP3 to a XP SP0/RTM image without problems - but to install XP on a live system, the OS must be SP1a or greater? MS does not *specifically* me...

I just tried MU: no .NET 3.0. It did show .NET 1.1 en 2.0, but that's not new. Are you 100% sure that it's 3.0 you are seeing? Ah sorry... mea culpa... I've done more setups and mixed them up. You are right... the .NET 3.0 is not displayed. But, who cares as we have the AIO addon or the redistribut...

Windows XP SP3 RTM - FAQ

Because a lot of questions keep turning up (including my own) in different threads, I thought it would be handy to have one general topic where all the questions and discussions can go. And it seems to me the best way to start this of is a FAQ. If you have anything to add to this, please respond and...

there are reports out this afternoon that the public release of SP3 has been delayed due to new reports from field testers. MSFT has said that fixes are in the works. Haven't tried yet. Where can I find these files so I can put them in the root of the CD, the way Chironz describes? The files aren't in de i386 folder. Should I install Windows first without addons and then get the files?

Also: I'd like to know why this happens. Does anyone have a clue?

SP3 with updates fails

I have just slipstreamed Windows XP with SP3. This worked fine. However, when I use the RVM-integrator to install addons, things go wrong. I tried different combinations of addons, but each one results in this error during the "Copying files..."-phase of Windows setup: The file 'napclientprov.mof' o...

Specifically, the one you are looking for will be "/integrate:(full source)". Which essentially means, you need to take and copy the entire XP CD ( preferably SP2 ) to its own directory and then have SP3 integrate into "that" directory. (Note: have it point to the directory that the directory "i386...
