Ryan The 500 errors are probably due to process limit in apache, check in the apache config (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf or /etc/httpd/conf/includes/*) for RLimitNProc If you see that line, just delete it. Since you are on a VPS you don't need it. DB Errors can be several things, if some of you can p...

There was some "I need you away from the computer NOW," stuff going on here while I was trying to write that. I know how that goes lol Hell, I'd bet several of us have old, unused, 30 to 40 gig hards drives sitting on a shelf that could be donated to the data preservations cause. I agree, I probabl...

Just because he says corp version doesn't mean he's actually using a VLK. His company could have bought retail..... Needless to say, if you are using a true VLK install, you should never be prompted to activate your copy of windows. For reference, WGAN (or WGA) stands for Windows Genuine Advantage, ...

So I'm chugging along now, and then I realized that some of the entries from 944533 are missing from Ryan's KB944533.AddReg but are instead in his T13.KB944533.AddReg section.. SO now I'm stuck wondering how to tell if an entry should be added at T13 or at some other point (during the normal AddReg)...

The registry entries omitted are created automatically when the DLL gets registered. For the future, don't compare against the INF. Compare against a running installation ;) Thanks, that helps a lot. Dissecting the Update Pack
Perhaps Ryan would be the best to answer this, however I felt the rest of the community might like to know the info too, so here goes. I'm working on making a Post-SP2 update pack for XP x64. I've started with KB944533, and am working on registry entries. What I'm trying to figure out is this: x86 "...

Shouldn't be a problem Except that nlite integrates IE7 last, so if you integrate it at the same time, it wont integrate correctly. The best bet is to extract the update, take the files it replaces, compress them with makecab and check your i386 folder to make sure that there is a file to be replac...

Sorry about that one. Not sure how I didn't see that during testing :( Ryan, I have a question. Does the integrator process obsolete files first, or last? I would think that it should process all of the obsolete files first. That way you could make the update packs obsolete all patches, and then go...
