Z, I wanted to download this so I can see how you put together your addon, but the file is not found. I know you've personally moved on to Linux, but are you still supporting this? Hope all is well with you. Not Found The requested URL http://mrspeel.nlitened.org/MrsP_CMDHere_Shell_Addon_v1.2-070825...

Hmmm, I've had the drive out the PC for a while now. When I connected it as a secondary drive per vmanda, it still makes a spin-up whirring sound followed by a click... continuously. The drive doesn't even register with the BIOS. I believe it is truly dead. Having a IDE -> USB adapter would be a han...

Hard Drive failure/recovery question | point me in right dir
Sorry, I should have posted this in a 'General' area. Would a Mod please move it for me? ----------------------- I know this forum doesn't specialize in hardware, but I'd like to throw this out and see if anyone knows. A woman brought me a broken PC with a clicking hard drive, which I assumed was an...

Yes, I have. I went about it no differently than I do for my Retail XP Pro machine. That is I removed components and added drivers and addons and all worked fine. Edit: This too was a result of a failed hard drive ... after re-installation, XP Home registered without problem. (Dell XP Home OEM). I ...

OEM install of XP Home Edition (Dell)
I volunteer at a Senior Center in my town doing misc IT stuff. Another volunteer brought in a 7 yr old Dell with a broken hard drive and her XP Home Edition Service Pack 0 reinstall disc. I want to make a new install disc (slipstream SP3 and hotfix) without some of the extra oem software installed. ...

Google's StarOffice 8 - where is it?
I've been using the Google Updater to download the latest version of the StarOffice 8 installer. (It downloads the installer into a temp/cache folder in APPDATA. From there I just copy it to a new location and I have the latest installer available to load whenever and wherever.) The GoogleUpdater do...

I am mildly put out by the loss of the Address Bar in SP3. Other than that, it is basically as mentioned above... a new starting point for making XP discs. I don't notice any performance gains using a SP3 source as opposed to a SP2 with UpdatePacks. On my next install I may revert to SP2 to get my a...

Ryan is working on his Post-SP3 pack right now. AFAIK no one includes IE7 in their update packs unless it pecifically states it is an AIO. A couple of weeks ago I used redxii's update pack with no problem. So either wait for Ryan's pack or use redxii's http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=568...

Roboform stores the registration info in a file called license.rfo The license.rfo can be in "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\RoboForm\license.rfo" to license the app for ALL USERS, or "...\My RoboForm Data\[Profile]\license.rfo" on a "per-profile" basis. I believe that the .rfo is also MACHINE ...

RMVi 1.5: SVCPACK vs RUNONCE?
My experience here in the past has been to use UpdatePack and Addons with nLite. Now I am trying RVMi 1.5. Are switchless installers run from SVCPACK by default? Some of the switchless installers are supposed to be run from RUNONCE, but I'm not sure how that is accomplished with RVMi Can the integra...

I too am a long-time user of RF (since 5.4). It may sound kind of silly, but it is the primary reason I have not moved to a flavor of Linux; Siber Systems has absolutely ZERO intention of building a linux version. And I am hooked on this software; I would not want to work without it. Anyway, I never...
