Strange thing with the RAM though is it previously showed 4, and no new hardware was installed after. I'll figure it out, get under the hood of it. Just wondered if it was an SP2 issue since I don't have SP3 :gasp!:

CD/DVD drive not working properly

Hey to all, 1) OK, I have a SONY DVD RW AW Q170A and a Lite-On SHM-165H6S. The first one (Sony), doesn't read blank DVD's, it just says "error, blah blah" but it should read AND write. It's allways reccommended to start fresh. The main issue I think you may have is the hotfixes you allready integrated may not show up on MU. Honestly, the best way (just my opinion) is to use BtS' Driverpacks.

Not only does he/they have great packs for sound, CPU drivers, etc., but for RAID and mass storage as well.

Really simple, just make sure you do it last, right before making your iso/burn.

Great, thanks. That's a great tutorial and actually looks straight forward, I'll give it a shot on the weekend. Is the AutoIt the same as the one with Ryan's pack? I', running XP2 w/ Ryan's pack, plus Kel's runtimes, don't know if those codecs cover the app.

Acro810.exe dumped in a folder with each update.

then, run acroupdate811.exe /s /a /s - and that's it? How does it know to update 8.1.0? Sorry, AutoIt is new to me, it's installed though. Thanks!!

I have Adobe Acrobat 8.1 (not the free one) and you need to install 8.1.1 and 8.1.2, which is a pain (sorta) since you need to keep the installer cache files when installing 8.1.0, which is an unnessary [sic] waste of a gig of space. I did a search and found some administrators talking on a forum......
