I noteiced this as well...the last time I did a build. I used nLite 1.4.9.1, slipstreamed in XP Pro SP3, and then the SP3 updates 2.8.1. Could not get the quick launch toolbar to show up no matter what I did.

I just did a fresh install with this pack integrated. I used nLite 1.4.9.1, and no other addons. My quicklaunch bar is not funtional, and windows update / microsoft update does not work either.

Anyone else have this problem?

yes...he's made it pretty clear that what's in the pack is in the pack. there are plenty of other options if IE8 isn't for you. i've been using it since the beta phase and while i don't think it will replace firefox as my primary browser, it's certainly a step up from 7, and infinitely better than 6...

Thanks for the help guys. I should have gone into more detail. The install disk is nLite'd using nLite 1.4.6 and and the original SP2 source. I slipstreamed SP3 in, then added my usual update packs and what not. The laptop is an Asus A8Js model. Under my audio properties, there is 'No audio device f...

Hah! This is an Asus laptop we're talking about here. Finding up-to-date drivers on their support site is usually a no-go, but I'll give it a try. It's weird. My last install was from an SP2 source with update packs, etc. I then installed SP3 thru windows update, and things were fine. But I just mad...

I just installed a fresh copy of XP Pro with the official SP3 integrated, and there's no support for the HD audio. I've also integrated redxiii's latest SP3 update pack. Any suggestions?

Damn. I hate to say it but Detroit is totally outplaying us. That game was a travesty. Some nice brawls, though.

Being from Pittsburgh I have to put in my opinion. Well, not really an opinion I guess, since the Pens ARE going to get the cup this year...

But the Wings had a good run, they really did. Sorry they're playing the Pens this year

why don't you just use nLite to remove the things you don't need? seems like the easiest option to me.

enu_user: i suppose you're right, but when there's a gap of years between official MS service packs, it's kinda hard to wait.

You would think that Microsoft would listen to this and think "Wow, this guy makes a lotta sense...maybe we should do something like this, or at least encourage him."

We can dream, cant's we? :o

I use Boooggy's slipstreamer to integrate WMP11 into a fresh XP source. Then I use nLite. I think nLite does some sort of checking to avoid overwriting files with older versions, but don't quote me on that. I think the only thing you have to worry about here is making sure you intergrate IE7 BEFORE ...

those are two hosting providers that I have experience with. Freehostia has really great prices. Webfaction has a bunch of built-in apps and a nice control panel with 1-click installers for a lot of Web 2.0 stuff. They're a little pricier tho. What kind of website / apps do you plan on developing? I...

Hey all, quick question about the order of integration. Since this pack is brand new, I'm not really sure what order to integrate. I'm using nLite 1.4 and this is the order that I'm using: Ryan's Update Pack 2.1.11 Update 2.1.11.5 from code65535 Ryan DX 9 addon Ryan's WGA addon boooggy's WMP 11 twea...

Yes, congratulations. I'm working on a master's degree myself and I know how much work it can be. Been using your update packs for a while now and really appreciate all the work you've put into it.

First day of summer....hmm...great day for a new update pack!

I use Spybot regularly, it's always worked great for me.

Lately I've also started using a-squared free version. It has a nice interface and it leaves a small footprint.
