Oh, forgot to say, the Intel ProSet is a program that starts when windoz starts. It runs in the system tray and allows many options to be set, for the on board adapter. So it was really just stopping that program from showing anything but its splash screen, which really had nothing to do with driver...

@galileo Error code 4 means "The system cannot open the file." I had a similar problem a couple of times.
