A different way to slipstream and install

I've always slipstreamed using my store bought retail OS. Now I have a laptop which came with a restore OS but it contains all the extra useless apps and trial versions. Can I use the slipstreamed OS that I made with the store bought retail OS and install it on the laptop using the registration/prod...

it not work with Windows Xp Sp3 Home English Edition I saw you posted in Xable's forum about the exact same thing for his WGA add-on. Just so you know, this add-on checks to see if the operating system is genuine (store bought or came with a computer purchase). It doesn't activate or break/hack the...

I've got a strange problem and need some help. When installing my slipstreamed XP Pro cd, I get an error at the 13 minutes left screen where a pop-up box says "Advanced INF Install - Error creating process <rootsupd.exe /Q> Reason: The system cannot find the file specified." ***UPDATE: After testing...

WGAV?

When slipstreaming a XP Professional Corporate, is WGAV needed since activation isn't required? I'm also slipstreaming IE7 and WMP 11 amoung other stuff. I'm just not sure if WGAV is needed. When I use my retail XP Home when slipstreaming I always use WGAV since I'm activating it with/through MicroS...

you can feel free to use Update packs made by others: OnePiece Redxii Xable just to name a few, RyanVM is not the only pack available. I've always used Ryan's update pack but would like an alternative that's similar to Ryan's. From what I understand, Xable's pack is just hotfixes and that's it. Rya...

Thanks for the reply! I wanted to make sure I was following the right flow to make a good slipstreamed OS.

When is the ideal/best time to copy my WINNT.SIF to my i386 directory? Here's my setup (EVERYTHING done through RyanVM Integrator): 1) A clean XP/SP0 source with SP3 already integrated. (Used Autostreamer 1.0.33) 2) Integrate RVMUpdatePackSP3_1.0.1.7z 3) Continue integrating (after step 2) the follo...

Just wanted to give an update to my earlier post about the battery error message. I created a new build exactly as before but used the new Intergrator 1.5.1 and left out the Xable's Microsoft Update addon (because Ryan's update pack already has it) and changed from Onepiece IE7 addon to MrNxDmX IE7 ...

project51 - Thanks for the info! I guess I was in a hurry and didn't bother to read Ryan's info file for the latest service pack. I'm going to update to RVM Integrator 1.5.1 and create a new build today. I'll be sure to post an update after testing. Thanks again!

Also had a pop-up box that says 'Device installer error - Windows could not load the installer for Battery. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance.' I get these messages everytime I boot the OS. 5eraph - Thanks for all your help. The last post made for some interesting reading. As for my choice of VM's recommended, I tried Virtual PC 2007 and it wasn't compatible with XP Home Edition. I then tried VMware and found it to work beautifuly. Very simple to use and the wizard made setting everyth...

Ok, since there's no other suggestions other than from runningfool87, I guess it's time to move on to the next question. I've created an unattended setup according to the following link http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/7/ and I'm ready to burn the updated XP CD. How do I test the CD...

A truley COMPLETE XP install!

I'm in the process of creating a complete XP install cd. I'm not concerned with driver packs or any extra addons that isn't part of XP. I'm also not concerned with custom settings or using nlite. Here's what I have so far: 1. XP source with SP2 integrated. 2. RVM update pack 2.1.11 and code65536 upd...

I hope I'm not repeating the same question as above from armond. If I updated my XP source with RVM update pack 2.1.11 and code65536 update pack 2.1.11.12, how exactly do I install WMP 11? For example, do I use WMP11 Slipstreamer to install the WMP11 installer and **ALL** of the hotfixes located in ...
