As promised, here's the follow up. I have all 8GB running, however, I had to lower the speed of the ram to 700 Mhz. Basically, what I did was install Cpu-Z when Vista was working on 3 sticks, and wrote down what the timings were. In the Bios, then, I changed the ram settings from automatic to manua...

Re: Vista Ultimate x64 Warning (BSOD with Over 2GB Ram)

Before you start banging your head against a wall, I want to point out that there has already been a good amount of discussion (complaints!) about the inability to install Vista x64 Ultimate Edition when there is over 2GB of RAM present. I believe many, many people are pointing the finger at Micros...

There is a forum that I use to read ... hydrogen audio forums. Anyhow, they're super freaks when it comes to lame mp3 encoding... I mean, wow... those d00ds are fanatics. I would definately use whatever proggie they recommend to both extract and to encode cds. Uhm, Exact Audio Copy seems to be the f...

posting 368 hotfixes to newsgroups

Downloaded some hotfixes today, and I'm posting them to the newsgroups. I didn't extract them all, but I assume they're all english. I didn't review them either, so I don't know which is the most current version. It'd be nice if someone were to develop a utility that looked at a directory, and check...

To avoid the 150+ .Cat "lock up" that will happen, I delete all .Cat files from the i386\svcpack folder. then, i delete the .cat files from inside the svcpack.inf file. everything installs just fine.

just a tip. . .

Possible fix.

I also got it on first run, and I copied these files over. After that, didn't get it again. So, I don't know if I didn't get it again because of these files or because it was actually second run.

Google :
D3DX9_24.DLL
D3DX9_25.DLL
D3DX9_26.DLL
D3DX9_27.DLL

Place into your system32 folder.
