I just made a very small add-on to use on my future installs. I only included the LegitCheckControl.dll needed to download files from MS. WGANotify.exe and WGATray.exe are excluded as they're not needed to download files. Feel free to try it out if you want. I haven't had a chance to test it yet. ht...

What components are you removing? I'm willing to bet thats the root of the problem. Send me your nLite config and I'll take a look.

Also verify the following 2 files exist on the original CD and in the final install.

c_20107.nls
kbdsw.dll

Lol, everyone is missing the point. There are some hotfixes not included in SP3 (as of yet). No its not really necessary, but I wanted to try it. Am I suggesting others do it? No.

You obviously didn't even bother to check the file versions. Here.. I'll explain for you. wscript.exe in SP3 = 5.7.0.1653 3 wscript.exe in WS 5.7 = 5.7.0.1653 5 Not a large build change, but they are different. KB933360 actually is build 3180 so disregard that. Still, I was only pointing out that th...

After doing an install with SP3 + RyanVM + code65536's pack, theres a few updates that are still newer. KB933360: August 2007 cumulative time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating systems Windows Script 5.7 These updates will NOT install on SP3. SP3 is detected and the update is stopped. Howev...

Well, lets be honest here. No where does it say that later SP3 releases will require a fresh install, so we don't know if it will cause problems down the road. I don't think it will, but even if it does I do a reformat almost monthly. However, I do agree that messing with SP3 at this point is at the...

I'm going to try adding the update packs and addons first, and then integrate SP3. Only because I figure the files in SP3 are newer and will overwrite any old files in the packs. EDIT: Incidentally, SP3 overrides any additional changes by RyanVM pack (hd audio, ect) so yeah... Integrate SP3 first, t...

XP SP3 update pack

What are the plans for SP3? Will there be a pack available once SP3 beta goes public or after the final release?

Unreleased KB hotfixes

I remember this being discussed a longgg time ago but I'm not sure of the outcome. Anyway, does RyanVM's update pack include these unreleased hotfixes? Or only certain ones? If so, I have a bunch that could be added.

I'm sorry, I think the problem is with nLite 1.0 final. I saw another thread on the nLite forum similar to my problem. Tried nLite RC8 and everything worked fine.

Btw, could someone please upload 2.0.6 for me? I don't have it anymore and I desperately need it. Thx so much. <3

Edit: Cancel that, I no longer need it. And I apologize to Ryan for asking on an ETA. I should have known. :P

Is there any kind of ETA on v2.1.0? Next MS update day? Don't mean to bug you, but I'm having major problems with the latest version and I don't know whether to wait or just use 2.0.6. Thx Ryan :)

I'm having the same problem using 2.0.7a. I am using nLite to integrate the pack. Even without removing components, I have the same issue.

soulkeeper, what are you using to integrate? Is this limited to nLite or also with the RyanVM integrator?

What version of the pack isn't affected by this?

Does this install to the system32 folder? Thats been a petpeeve of mine. When installed to system32, you can't upgrade as new versions are released. Well, you can, but you leave behind old obsolete files.

The same thing with KB873407 and KB903234. Both listed and not included. Request-only hotfixes though, so I guess it doesn't matter because they'll be removed in the next pack.

I hope someone decides to work on a hotfix add-on. :D

Hotfix listed but not included?

I'm a little confused as to why KB870997 is listed as included, yet the file "userenv.dll" is not included in the pack. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870997#XSLTH5140121123120121120120 Shows that the updated file, for XP SP2, should be userenv.dll build 5.1.2600.2504. No file in the pack, and file...
