yes i do understand...my problems is i have to uninstall or at least re-install to repair some problems with codecs. I can't even reinstall or repair mplayer 10. Thats the difference with your update pack ryan, there i can reinstall a hotfixes if needed. Oh well...forget it...i look for a silent ins...

maybe an idea...change windows paint with paint.net the same way as you replace notepad and calc.
Paint.net is completely freeware and released as version 2.5.

But strangly when i went back to vmware 5.0 my problem disapeared.
I went back to vmware 5.5 and there it was again
All later test done with 3.7
