Can somebody explain the difference between the two? I see nothing on Booogy's msfn thread that states his addon is not compatible with RVM integrator. What tweaks are used? Whose WMP11 addon should I use if I just want a straight forward addon of WMP to shut up MicrosoftUpdate and has all the fixes...

I'm sorry to see it doesn't work for you, it works perfectly fine here and for other people. Are you sure you have a clean source? PS: The registry entries won't do any harm. The support for detecting Updates in MU is totaly screwed, every time I logon on it says different things about what need to be installed to patch my office 2003. Will MS still release new updates for IE6 after pushing IE7 via MS Update?

How will this work out? I am guessing IE6 will still be getting updates until SP3 is released which will have IE7 integrated, right?

[REQUEST] Java 5 update 9 runtime

It's out :)

Sun had a working link for it however, just like their link to update 8 upon initial release, it has vanished!

Following a thread on 9down, a third party host still has it up for download: http://www.computerbase.de/downloads/so ... /?url=8805

They have reverted back to update 6???? 5.08 is still available for download navigating through sun's main website: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

I can attest to the fact that a corrupt download of an update pack can lead to problems like this. My specific problem was that I did not verify size (my DL ended 2MB premature) and it integrated without giving me a pronounced error message window. I mentioned this a while back and there is talk abo...

Well... that depends on how the addon was made. If it is a valid addonpack then it is directly integrated. If it is a switchless installer addon then it is actually installed. ;) I prefer the valid addonpacks... but sometimes it is difficult to create a valid addonpack... so the switchless addons n...

Do update pack addons save install time vs switchless instal

Excuse my ignorance I'm only now trying to study deeper on the subject on svcpack.inf integration vs RunOnceEx. I'm trying to shorten the overall install time of my XPSP2 DVD ISO and I run a lot of switchless installers in RunOnceEX. Is there a speed advantage in using an update pack addon (for exam...

If this is the time to plead for individual private hotfixes to remain, I hope KB883667 stays in. This fixes the dual monitor/intel chipset issue where a plug and play monitor popup interrupts an unattended install.

The Integrator will display the MD5 checksum of the file you have, but will not check to see if it is correct. The correct MD5 value is on the Update Pack download page. Compare that to the one the Integrator reports in its log file. Indeed it was corrupt! I downloaded again and now all is well. Th...

I did not notice, isn't that automatically checked within the RVM integrator and it there is corruption, it would be reported as such?

rpcrt4.dll, RVMUpPck.inf fail to copy in setup w/ 2.0.6

I have a frustrating error when using the latest update pack. Yeah, installing it via RunOnceEx.cmd goes without issue using hotfix.exe /quite /nobackup (NOT /INTEGRATE). I guess this is the only option to get a clean slate on MSupdate until IE7 gets released (and who knows if it will play nice via known integration methods).

keytotime - the issue is much greater than just msoobe. It completely breaks IE as well. However, I have my suspicions that the issue lies with the hotfix itself. Anyway, is there a way to add this hotfix AND use the RVM update pack?
