@yumeyao Great! Can you also please make a switchless installer for an up-to-date x64 version of .net 4 for windows 7, with all the updates? The only working solution out there is this one, but an alternative would be most welcomed.

I also got a SSL error from Chrome when trying to visit oracle.com. Probably their site was attacked or something like that. Or maybe just a false security warning. :)

I have the mixed addon, and those apps STILL installs their own runtimes. Or at least that's what my add/remove programs windowis saying.

You do know that WPI has MANY was of checking to see if a fix is actually needed or not , right? Go over your WPI config and build in some regchecks to see if a feature is actually still there or not . That was my point. Windows Defender was only an example. I wasn't saying 7 isn't good... it's probably the best Microsoft OS. :)

But the ngen 4.0 problem may also be hardware/driver related... just for curiosity, does the system you installed xp on resemble mine: nvidia motherboard chipset, AMD processor, ATI graphic card and Marvell network adapter?

Probably only a Microsoft employee could enlighten us on what that service does.
