How do you usually obtain direct WU links to hotfixes? I was wondering whether KB892130 had been updated to 1.5.540.0 to match 905474.

I'm considering deleting [the Malicious Software Removal Tool] from my copy of the Update Pack... There's no need because it's not there. ;) All that exists regarding the MSRT are the registry entries showing that it has already been run (even though it never has). Removing those entries will make ...

Should I be concerned about the ExtraFileEdits bug here? I mean all I want to do is simply use the Integrator and use this addon, not edit any variables or whatever. Am I alright there?

Having read about supposed dodgy dealings with the Malicious Software Removal Tool, I'm considering deleting that from my copy of the Update Pack as well as WGA. Is it relatively easy-peasy or is it better to provide a step-by-step guide in case no-one has the time to make another patch?

I don't remember seeing an option in nLite recently to nuke the default viewer? I'm using 1.0 RC8 as well.

Hmmm, looking at system32 I notice five similarly named files: PortableDeviceApi.dll PortableDeviceClassExtension.dll PortableDeviceTypes.dll PortableDeviceWiaCompat.dll PortableDeviceWMDRM.dll They're all dated 09-May-2006, and all have a version number of 5.2.5358.4827. And looking further, they d...

Sorry for the miniscule post! Well atm I haven't integrated any new WMPs into my CD so far, I was testing manually through normal installation which version would be best to stick to (9, 10 or 11) and just yesterday I noticed the icon. I was just asking if anyone else experienced this before, as I'm...

Broken "Portable Media Devices" icon in CPanel

What exactly is causing this? Is it WMP 10? 11? One of the WMP hotfixes?

To give more detail, it's "broken" in the sense that it doesn't have an icon (just the generic Windows "any file" one), and when double-clicked on, opens a new Explorer window with nothing inside it.

How can I remove Flash Player 8 from the Update Pack?

Hello all, newbie alert!!!! I just wanted to ask how difficult it may be for me to customise my copy of the Update Pack slightly to, say, remove bits and bobs you may not want for any reason? I was thinking about taking out Flash 8 for the time being. I notice someone made a way to remove the WGA Tr...
