Wow, after consulting this page I found through Google (pardon the alien tongue ;)) and hex-editing the file manually, I restart and...... still 250Hz. What the hell?

I should add that when I made my custom XP CD recently, I asked nLite to patch it to 500Hz. So something's definitely up.

What's the correct hex modification for 500Hz USB in XP SP3?

I don't know why, but no patches or programs I've tried so far can get the speed above 250Hz. I'm using version 5.1.2600.5551 of usbport.sys, as included in this update pack.

Is it some kind of new hardcoded limit MS implemented or something?
