That's about all that is the same - the KB numbering system

. Servicing is quite different compared to XP.
If you want something similar to an update pack you will need to use different tools found elsewhere.

Microsoft has stopped providing Windows 7 ISO images directly to the public. However you can download it directly from Microsoft here if you have a genuine Windows 7 product key.

OEM Keys are not valid so you have to use the recovery method provided by your particular oem manufacturer.

I use the addons as is. I'm not aware of any IE tweaks that I have which change these flags. Is there something I can check in the installation target dir after integration to see if those flags are correct. If they are, then something is happening during or after installation is completed.

On Windows 7 and 8, the attrib.exe is pretty much useless for resetting archive flags. You will get access denied for the majority

In October I will create a post-SP4 update pack, which can be integrated in any Windows XP SP4-integrated media. I'll try to keep this update pack up-to-date every month.
