Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ryan for including KB907405!
SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. A Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)-based computer is configured for wireless network connectivity. You manually disconnect from a wireless network that uses a hidden (non-broadcast) service set identifier (SSID). In this scenario, you cannot reconnect automatically or manually to the wireless network that uses a hidden SSID. Additionally, the wireless network that uses a hidden SSID is no longer displayed in the Wireless Network Connection window.

Development is underway for the next version of the integrator, but there's no pressing need for it currently. 1.0.5 works just fine.

Although I haven't tried a test install yet, using 7zip to 'test archive' on 2.0.2, I get the following 5 files as 'broken' and unreadable in the .cab:

entries.ini
es.dl_
esent.dl_
usbvideo.sys
user32.dl_

Same 7zip test result after four download attempts, two with MSIE and two with Opera. In all four cases, the MD5 hash is:

a8524d2de012aa913222807ce93f250c

Same file errors occur after extracting the .cab.

The current 2.0.1 .cab tests fine without errors.

Post by Geq » Tue Jan 17, 2006 1:53 am

yes I spent a painful week pulling my hair out after downloading the last pack only to finally figure out that I had a corrupt d/l

So check your MD5 Sum first

Thanks for getting this out especially after all the troubles you had recently!

open up the .cab and remove it then look inside all the .inf/.ini files for any reference to it and remove it... Other than that I'm clueless...
You may have to expand -r the inf files...

My MD5 hashes match, too. I get the same thing with 7-Zip, but WinRAR test and extraction is succesful. Must be a bug in 7-Zip, I'm thinking.

Time to change the archiver? WinUDA for example reported to compress much better :) It has SFX.

Or a bug in whatever created the .cab. A 'bug' could exist on the create or extract side.......

Run a test under PowerArchiver 2006.
Main CAB and all inside CABs are extractable no problem, inclusive in SVCPACK folder.

Seems really to be 7z problem.

I proceed with install. :D

what for? Its not the problem in Ryans packer. The problem is in extractor.
Use anything other than 7z.

I havent installed it, but ripped WGA from pack. Repacking made no problems. All CABs seem ok.

The problem is 7zip extractor

Superb pack Ryan.

The BT tracker is down. Get on mjc if you want it back up.

I can confirm the 7zip extraction error. I'm using jdoe's cabtool 1.8 to create the archive, so I'll get in contact with him and see what he says.

The good thing is that I specifically test the CAB I'm planning on releasing with the integrator to verify its integrity, so I can confirm that the files within are NOT corrupt.

Hmm did the same thing to me too for some strange reason...
Apparently it does it when I copy/paste the shortcut but not when I directly go to the page linked to above and try and download it...

hold on, if Ryan has no objections I'll post it up on filefront too...

It doesn't point to www.msfn.org, it's because you (indirectly) changed the referer to something else than "http://www.msfn.org". Read the FAQ for crying out loud.

Please just give a yes - I'll upload a mirror to rapidshare.de

-------
Also, I had the SAME PROBLEM with MSFN. Maybe its good to copy this to FAQ:

Download wont start if:
- You have a Firewall on that has on "Prevent Sites From Tracing You":
Kerio, OutPost, Sygate, ZAlarm,.. . Turn the option off or disable Firewall.
- You use high anonymity Proxy or Trace-preventing program like A4Proxy . Turn it off.
- You set security options of your browser to high level.

The download window should open WHEN you click on the RVM in Download section on THIS (ryanvm.net) site. You SHOULDNT be forwarded to MSFN!

------

I have another question Ryan: Is it possible to apply a LZW high level compression? I think the default is so called MSzip. If it works, it will reduce the file to 25%+.

Made a RIS image today with:
- RyanVM Update Pack V2.0.2
- Ryan's WMP10 V2.0 Pack
- V2.1.5 of my update addon pack
- my .NET 1.1 combo pack
- my M2-RIS helper pack

All is working perfect. Life is getting better now..

What about it? Ryan said we needed to ask mjc if we wanted that back up, I don't do BT so I don't worry about that, I can download just as fast without BT so I don't need it...

I use LZX:21 compression on the CABs, which is as high as it'll get.

DisabledTrucker, what I meant was that I don't think tracking is the reason that Ryan doesn't want to have mirrors, since there is no tracking at all with BitTorrent.
