Can I install this on a running Windows XP installation?
Unfortunately, no. This pack was designed to be integrated into a Windows XP install CD so that it's up to date when Windows is installed. Other parties have made similar updates for updating an already-installed copy of Windows XP, including Autopatcher XP and TheHotfix.net's Unofficial SP3 pack.
Btw, I take it you have seen that this doesn't come with Ryan's pack:
Components
.NET Framework 1.1 (+SP1) (only in Full)
- KB886903: Security Update for .NET Framework 1.1 SP1
.NET Framework 2.0 (only in Full)
Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP (v5.6.0.8825)
Windows Installer 3.1 (v2)
Microsoft Journal Viewer 1.5.2316.0 (only in Full)
Windows Media Player 10.0.3802
MSN Messenger 7.5.0311 (only in Full)
Windows Media Connect 2.0 (only in Full)
Windows Messenger 5.1.0701 (only in Full)
Profile Hive Cleanup

Add-ons
Adaptec ASPI
TweakUI 2.10
ActiveSync 4.1 (only in Full)
Bootvis 1.3.37 (only in Full)
Copy Profile Tool
DirectX Control Panel
Google Toolbar 3.0.126.3 (only in Full)
PowerMenu 1.5.1
Startup Control Panel 2.8
New XP Screensavers (only in Full)
Macromedia Shockwave Player 10.1 (only in Full)
Macromedia Flash Player 8 for Internet Explorer (only in Full)
Macromedia Flash Player 8 for Mozilla, Firefox, Opera and Netscape (only in Full)
New Theme: Royale (only in Full)
New Wallpapers (only in Full)
New XP Style Wallpapers (only in Full)
New AutoPatcher Wallpaper (only in Full)
Official Windows XP PowerToys (only in Full)
Sun Java 1.5.0_06 (only in Full)
Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet for Windows XP (only in Full)
?

EDIT: Well, most of that doesn't come with Ryan's pack, some things are. ;)

Also I think autopatcher uses the install files to do it's job. Ryans pack is the installer files extracted... so there is no extra setup stuff etc. Only the files that are needed for the integrator to add the updates to your disk. Also you may notice that after everything is in your disk your disk size is not much bigger then what it was to begin with. :) That is because the files usually overwrite older files.

You'd do yourself a favor to read the top of http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack.html . It fairly clearly explains what's in there and why it works so well. That page also lists exactly what's included.

But for the record, bigger doesn't always mean better ;)

thx for all answers here - ok bigger dont have to be better and i know the addon section that makes maybe the file size bigger but i have thought that smaller size less patches because every exe need space or not ;)

Like I said... Ryans pack does not have the installer exe's it has the contens that is inside them. So that saves space. Some of the hotfixes replace the same files... so there is no need to have multiple versions of the same file. The newer hotfix will overwrite the older files. Therefore you save a ton of space... and everybodies happy. :D

dude, simply forget about Autopatcher or any other kinda of patching after Windows install :) all u need for a nearly perfect install are Windows XP installation CD (with ServicePack 2 already included), ryans pack, ryans integrator, a few "Switchless Installer Addon Packs" of your choise and nLite soft from http://www.nliteos.com and also a little knowledge of english and brain would be suggested aswell :D
also would suggest to read http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/ to get some understanding on how the unattended stuff works and what are teh UBERadvantages :)
