__integrate.exe takes care of all file copying.

The PRO folder and HOME

have to copy the files from there to the I368 Dir don't you, i don't use the intergrate as I don't want to be waiting 10-20 mins to compress CABs, could that not be optional, say 2 options one to copy the files your self or have another intergrate file that doesnt do anything to the CABs

Right I am going to test it again, wounder why I never had the problem before now...Maybe coz I never build an entirely new unattended disk always just overwrote files

Ok back to testing now

If you don't run __integrate.exe, you're going to have a LOT of leftover crap in your i386 folder that shouldn't be there.

I've been having the exact same issue as codejunkie since I integrated 1.2.1.
I started from a fresh XP SP2 CD and used __integrate.exe, but in my VMWare install the problems mentioned above also occur.

I didn't use the No-Wmp inf, so I think it's safe that that one isn't the culprit.

I don't know what to tell you guys. I can't reproduce it on my end. Before releasing it, I tested integration over 1.2.0 and on a fresh SP2 CD and both worked fine (they produced identical ISOs).

Nazgul, did you also integrate a Bashrat driver pack? I'm inclined to think the issue lies with that.

Yes, I also integrated Bashrat's driver pack. I'll try creating an image without them this weekend to see if it helps.

Just a quick thought. Could it be caused by KB888111, because both your pack and the driverpack try to integrate it?

According to Bashrat, he designed his installer in such a way that it would only add the entries if they previously didn't exist. That being said, I'm not convinced that there isn't a bug in his scripts.

I created 2 new images from scratch. One with only your pack and one with your pack and the driverpacks. On both images the problem didn't occur.

I'm more confused than before, because I used the exact same batch file to create my image (I scripted my unattended CD creation), without any changes.

All I can do now is hope the problems stays away.

Hi,

Can somebody answer me these 2 questions?
1. What are the differences between the NoWMP Lite/Medium/Full versions?
2. What is the order to slipstream NoWMP Lite?

I have done the following...hope this is correct:
1. Copy my XP cd to harddisk directory c:\xpcd
2. Use Nlite to integrate SP2 and hotfixes UpdatePackLite
3. Use Bashrat's slipstreamer with MP10Setup.exe and copied resulting c:\i386 to c:\xpcd\i386. Modified the HIVEDEF.INF file.
4. Extracted your NoWMPLite cab to c:\xpcd\i386 (not using Nlite!)
5. Extracted your 122to122aLite.rar to c:\xpcd\i386
6. Extracted your 122to122aLiteNoWPM.rar to c:\xpcd\i386
7. Burn it to cd

Is this all correct? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can just do #6 without doing #4 and #5

Thanks for the quick response Ryan.
I have done the following now:
1. Applied SP2 integration + hoxfixes UpdatePackLite, followed by 122to122aLite.rar
2. Used Gnome's slipstreamer.
3. Burn to cd

Did i need to apply 122to122aLiteNoWPM after Gnome's slipstreamer???...i see there is a difference in the svcpack.in_ size(!)

Running Gnome's last was a good idea. His slipstreamer adds some stuff to svcpack.inf, hence the different size. Try it out in VMWare or VirtualPC and let us know how it goes :)

I just installed the whole cd on a new partition...so far installation went smoothly and MP10 is working. However, i noticed that after XP finished installation...you normally get a blue screen and red progressbar telling you to remove the disk from station A:...i did not see this anymore...was this normal? I am a novice on this...but it seems that the Gnome's created svcpack.in_ file has different KBxxxxx entries compared to the one of 122to122aLiteNoWMP....i mean, should the one from 122to122aLiteNoWMP not be a subset of Gnome's svcpack.in_????
Just want to be sure i did not forget any steps...don't want to make an incomplete CD and reinstall everything again though

The restart screen won't be there if you're doing an unattended setup and have WaitForReboot="No" specified in winnt.sif.

As for what Gnome's stuff is doing, svcpack.inf should be the same as before, only with added entries, though he may be removing CAT files which are no longer needed with WMP10 integrated. I have 4 or 5 hotfixes are being removed with WMP10 integrated. I wouldn't worry about it as long as everything is working OK.

And stay tuned, I'm going to have a test build with WMP10 included soon :)
