Post by Z3R0-CooL » Sat May 13, 2006 11:58 am

Err, last time I checked, backing up wpa.dbl (or whatever it is) isn't against any rules...

While I've not had to deal with avoiding activation (VLK is _sooo_ sweet), I'm looking at having to here shortly. So, if anyone is willing to share, I can be pm'd with the information. And if not, well, no worries. I'm just not going to jump on the "let's flood "X" with a ton o' PM's" bus.

I hear it's a rather short one these days.

'n stuff.

Go to the C:\Windows\System32
need only 2 files - "wpa.dbl" and "wpa.bak"

After news install go in safe mode and copy them to C:\Windows\System32

It will not work if the hardware is significantly different from that in place when the Windows Product Activation database files were created. This is not a hack to avoid activating installations.

RyanVM, that's easy: just call Microsoft and buy it from them. Now I'd say that was a smart discussion...

(Sorry, couldn't resist...)
