Found something weird with my source files
Found something weird with my source files
Can someone confirm this?
I have located MSNMSGS.MS_ and it's almost 5 mb in size.
I extracted it to find that it was an MSI installer.
It's MSN Messenger v6.1 on what I thought was a clean source!!!
I have had many successfull installs with this source...there's no SVCPACK folder...no $OEM$ folder or even a WINNT.SIF file.
Just this one stray file...well there might be more.

orcoxp,
On a WinXP Gold, I don't have that file, but with the same disk and integrating SP2 I do.
So, does SP2 integrate this file for some reason or, did nLite (I forgot which version I used to integrate it with) add it?
Hmmm... makes you wonder what other files are installed eh?
Cheers,
FlyingGleek

I noticed that it's in TXTSETUP.SIF too...in a small section with some other files.
As soon as I get around to it I'll see what those are and where they are destined to be place in the setup.
Hint hint...if someone gets to this research before I do please post your results.

Well well well, turns out I have this file in my clean SP2 source too, and I never even knew about it!
Looking up info on txtsetup code though, apparently by default it's not even installed/copied to the system by Text Setup. So I wonder why they even included it in the first place? As a hidden easter egg of sorts?
