Noob questions

Post by robdam » Sun Nov 12, 2006 6:19 pm

Greetings. awesome site. So much info my head is gonna implode. Is there a noobie forum for me to ask stupid questions? Like how to add post SP2 update/hotfixes to my XP SP2 slipstream? I have nLite but have no idea how to use it. I haven't been able to find a "how to" anywhere within the forums. Thanks to all who reply.

Thanks for your prompt reply, greatly appreciated. Forgive me but I've looked and cannot, for the life of me, find any directions...(what is needed, how to, etc). Thanks x2 I bow to you!

I've found this >>>>>>>> http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/nlite.html

What I have is a slipstreamed bootable XP Pro Corp with SP2

What I would like to do is add all updates/hotfixes post-sp2 to my existing bootable CD

I can't figure out or find out how it's done. Sorry for such noob questions.

Take a look here http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack.html under "useful links". However, I suggest using the "integrater" to update your xp disk, as you are new to all this. For a detailed "how to", take a look here http://integrator.professorcpu.net/ under manual.

I'm assuming you've also seen the nLite homepage and its associated MSFN Forum. If not, check those first.

nLite can directly integrate many downloaded hotfixes in addition to the various Update Packs found here. It's really not that hard, especially if you stick to the Update Packs where all of the heavy lifting is done for you.
