RyanVM Intergrater - Need help - I'm new and I apologize in

Okay, I followed the directions for RyanVM and I think I did it right. Anyway, it began to intergrate when it asked me to find the SP2 file so it could slipstream it...

And so now I'm confused. The tut. didn't mention anything about this.
Help would be much appreciated.

It's a Post-SP2 Update Pack, so yes, you need SP2 to be slipstreamed into your install source first. The file menu allows you to point the Integrator to the downloaded xpsp2 network install file if you want the it to do the slipstream for you when it's integrating the pack.

This is my friends laptop and he said that it came with sp2. So are you saying that I have to go to 'that' folder? And if so, will it ruin his sp2 folder?

Why is the CD extracted to the root of the hard drive????

It's not. It was already there. I just assumed that was the folder my friend was talking about. You know when he told me that his laptop came with SP2. Beside I just looked for the .exe file and it's not in there.

So explain again as to WHAT folder I'm supposed to find sp2 in so I can slipstream it or whatever it wants me to do.

Man, I hate what OEMs do when they're too cheap to just include an actual install CD

The Integrator should be used on a directory to which the entire XP install CD has been ripped. For example, I rip the XP install CD to a directory xpcd, which I then point the Integrator to.

In your case, try moving the i386 and valueadd directories to an xpcd directory. You'll also need the ident files (win51 etc) in the xpcd dir, otherwise the CD will be of very little use.

That's what most do nowadays.
CuriousRiz...that i386 directory is for recovery/backup purposes....best to make a backup xp disk first...minus all the preinstalled applications crap etc.... just in case you run into any problems.

I made you a sshot with the original files from the XP SP2 CD, maybe you can pick them from your root drive somehow (if they're still all there).

(Remember that yours looks a little bit different, since you don't have SP2 integrated yet.)
