no! MU only checks for the reg entries and the file versions!
so its no problem!

but QFECHECk will say you you have to reinstall the most of the hotfixes!

yeah, but aside from qfecheck 's report, what is the other downside?
files not protected by SFC, I know, but will there be any popups about this in everyday work?

All of the files will appear to be unsigned and won't be protected by Windows File Protection. You'll probably get those popups telling you that if you don't disable WFP outright (though I'm not certain of that).

Is it going to kill your computer? No. Everything will still be up-to-date, Windows File Protection just won't like the files.

what is the conclusion

Post by bhurtel » Mon Aug 29, 2005 12:39 am

should i remove all the traces of cat files from svcpack.ini and disable SFC /WFP to overcome t39 problem of 1.3.1

or
shall i replace svcpack.in_ file and svcpack folder of ver 1.2.2
to ver 1.3.1

[Note:- ver 1.2.2 doesn't take longer at t39 ]
