Very nice indeed

Post by RogueSpear » Tue Nov 23, 2004 9:52 pm

Now.. lets get down to business! 8)

I am wondering if anyone has heard of my new favorite utility, NirCmd. This little thing can do anything it would seem. It's almost like its own batch engine. It can adjust volume levels, screen resolution, open and close CD-DVD drive trays, and dozens of other things.

Any chance this magnificent little piece of freeware might wiggle it's way in the Update Pack much the way cmdow and psshutdown have?

Very nice utility RogueSpear just don't know how relevant it would be to Ryans update package though.
Would be nice addition when NLiting though.

In terms of being an update to the OS proper, you're absolutely right, it really isn't at all. I just thought that like cmdow, it would be helpful to some for their unattended scripts.

As it stands, I have a 7z file that I decompress using DetachedProgram which dumps a bunch of misc little things in System32 (7za, PowerArchiver comman line, DirectX control panel, etc.). It's really no problem for me, I just thought if it were useful enough to enough people that maybe it would be considered.

I've got a few things I've been toying with adding to future packs. I'll probably start some polls at some point to see what others think about the addition possibilities.

In all fairness, it's only been online for a couple days :P

I expect it to get bigger as time goes on, especially with new releases.

Yes I did, but didn't find a topic that handles ftp downloads though...
The ftp prblem probably lies with me, I connect through a(hardware) firewall which blocks many ports... :(
