I'm still interested in KB910720 if someone requests it.

I'll also be adding MMC3.0 to the pack eventually, but it probably won't make it into 2.0.2 simply due to time constraints (more on that in an announcement shortly).

I'd love to see that implemented, hopefully it will clear up some problems I've been experiencing lately with some other software I've been using lately.

Espeically if it actually fixes this problem:

Code: Select all

MSDTC leaks memory when the server is under heavy load conditions.

Thanks to all that has been posting their hotfixes. It would be nice if we could have a collection of hotfixes that are just available by email from MS. Maybe we could post a torrent pack of it or something.

We had that to begin with but due to the fact that there is a limitation with the .cat files, they decided to shorten it to just specific ones that RyanVM will support in his future packs.

Hey boooggy,

I don't actually have these hotfixes, I just post the new KB articles so someone else can request them. I have a Volume License version of XP Pro, so I'm not eligible for free support (including hotfix requests).

And while I'm at it, if anyone knows where I can find the 897574 hotfix, or if anyone would care to share it with me, I'd appreciate it. I've run into the problem described in that KB article on occasion.

yingkit,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that due to Windows File Protection, I can't just simply replace the ntfs.sys file with this new one. Even if I am allowed to copy the file to system32\drivers, WFP wouldn't recognize it (every hotfix comes with updated security catalogs so WFP can validate the updated system components). The hotfix itself should detect whether newer versions of the files contained within the hotfix already exist on my system, and replace only the files that have not been updated.

Am I wrong about this?

KB911904 - FIX: Error message when you play certain .avi files in Windows Media Player: "0x800705aa - Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service"

This hotfix is available for download from the KB article webpage. It updates quartz.dll to 6.5.2600.2807, superseding the security fix that contained this component from a month or two ago.

I know Ryan, but the v2 version as a hotfix itself is hard to get these days. I also never used the pack and slipstreamed all the hotfixes I deemed fit into my personal install CD.

Yeah, I read that too. But my problem still persists w/ SP2, and the link on microsoft shows last review on Oct 10 2005, so I think they released a newer version? (could be)

yes,,,, and the topic being "Hotfix Hunt for Windows XP SP2"
not your personal problems ....
4 change try google.com
beta.search.msn.com
check again http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/
if the problem still persist:
1. double check your psychiatrist prescription
2. follow these links:

http://www.bpkeepers.org/treatment/treatment.html

Individuals who present with bipolar disorder will be in one phase of the disorder, either a major depressive episode or a degree of a manic episode. This episode of either acute major depression or mania should be the focus of initial treatment. Since the treatment of this disorder nearly always involves medication (usually lithium), evaluation of the patient and proper prescription of an appropriate psychopharmacological agent is necessary. Usually the episodes will not be severe enough to warrant hospitalization, although partial hospitalization may be considered to stabilize the individual on the medication. Suicidality should always be assessed, especially for those suffering from a major depressive episode.

One of the central reasons a patient presents with this disorder, after having been previously treated, is because he or she has stopped taking prescribed medication.

well, I'm not asking to fix my problem. I just ask if there is a new version of it and if anyone can get a hold of it. No need for mocking here.
And don't double post, there is an edit button.

The file information clearly shows that the file hasn't been updated since 2003. Just because the KB article was modified doesn't mean that the hotfix was. Maybe the fixed a typo or added a new keyword. It doesn't say anything about the fix itself.
