How to get all the hotfix for windows?

Post by quest221 » Fri Jun 20, 2008 3:06 pm

I wonder how to get all the hotfix for windows?

e.g:
I installed xp_sp2 without any hotfix, so I have to download hundreds of hotfixes from the automatic updates, but this will take time to download if I have to install it on many conputers(it's too inconvenient to download one by one through the link base the automatic uptates )

Is there any tools or methods to analyze the latese hotfix(get a list for the address of the hotfix, like http://......KBxxxxx.exe) and download them automatically to local?(after the new hotfix released, some old hotfix will be fixed)
You can't say!!!

Yes and no.

Yes in that it *can* be done.

No in that it is not always that easy.

Three of several ways to figure out what updates to get.

1. Install XP, like you did. Go to the windows update site. Make a note of all updates and download each to your computer. (Then take to each computer and install one by one.)

2. Go to windows catalog site. It should allow you to download updates of any kind whether or not they have already been installed. Driver updates can be downloaded too.

3. Use nlite (or Ryan's Integrator) with an update pack that has most if not all of the necessary updates. Nlite can also be used to directly integrate downloaded updates from item 1 or 2.

Hi,Kal & djkc

Both your tools are nice!
I found both they have "database" under the program folder, so we have to update the "database" first, then we can download the hotfix, isn't it?
