SP3 and AMD Processors

Post by Deep River Integrator » Mon Jul 21, 2008 9:05 am

MS's June Patch Tuesday included a fix for problems encountered with AMD systems installing SP3 (KB953356). I have searched through the forums and have found no mention of this fix being included into any of the SP3 update packs (based on changelogs for Ryan's, Onepiece's AIO, and redxii's packs). Do any of these packs contain this fix or do I have to include this fix as an add-on? Thanks, in advance, for any response.

P.S. - Ryan - from other posts I see it's your birthday, so --- Happy Birthday Ryan.

"This problem occurs when a System Preparation (Sysprep) image is created on a computer that uses an Intel processor and is then deployed to a computer that does not use an Intel processor."

For people working in an environment where sysprep is used, useful.

As an Example this was present on some HP computers with preinstalled Windows XP.
It's not necesary if you use slipstreaming to update an installation disc.
