Thruba wrote:First of all, during the first phase of XP installation (I don't know its name, I call it "The Blue Screen Phase"), when all the mass storage drivers are loaded and it is time to choose the drive you want to install to, there is no more alert about having already a WinXp installation on that same drive. If you procced, it doesn't allow you to re-format the drive and it begins to copy the files, creating a "windows.0" folder for the former installation instead of deleting it. To perform a format of the drive during this phase of the installation, you have to delete the partition and re-create it. I believe this to be a bug or something.
Secondly, during the next phase, it doesn't let you choose additional languages, thus if you are making a bilingual installation (like I do), you end up only with the english language. Of course, you can always add the desired language afterwards, inside XP, but nevertheless this is something it shouldn't be happening.
Your SETUP is unattended? Look in I386 folder for file WINNT.SIF, remove it from source, burn & try to install again.

Hello, Ryan!
Thank you for your work :)
Bug report for Post-SP3 Update Pack 1.0.0a:
DOS/HDD (from HDD) installation don't work.
On Т28 the file napprov.mof is requested and the system turns out non-working, plus at a text stage does not find three chm files which at integration enigmatically disappear from dosnet.inf, remaining in txtsetup.sif.

i'm consulting the same thing as you, Grunger86, tho i'm using my chinese update pack.
i find that DOS setup will first create tempfolder that contains files needed by installation difined by dosnet.inf, then at Blue-Screen-Copy, it MOVES those files to destination instead of COPY. so if a file is needed twice, at blue-screen-copy and later GUI inf installation, the inf installation will report file missing.
i'm not sure on this.. tho.

--------------edit---------------
i think we need [txtsetup_fileflags].
i'll get a full list then edit this post again.
afaik tshoot.dll is needed.

--------------edit2----------------
use this addon.
it works for my chinese os. not sure if english xp contains same files that needed to be fixed.

Ryan, the source is a good old reliable WinXp Corporate Sp0 I used for slipstreaming Sp1 and Sp2 and never had anything similar before. Is there a possibility that slipstreaming Sp3 caused these issues?

Pasha, you are right! There is indeed a WINNT.SIF file in I386 folder, but I never use unattended setups, how did it get there? I'll burn it again and see what happens.

I've got the issue Thruba described in his reply on this pack. I have to delete the partition, create and format or windows just gets copied to new directory. What am I doing wrong? Here's my intergrator log:

i find that DOS setup will first create tempfolder that contains files needed by installation difined by dosnet.inf, then at Blue-Screen-Copy, it MOVES those files to destination instead of COPY. so if a file is needed twice, at blue-screen-copy and later GUI inf installation, the inf installation will report file missing..........
I can confirm the comments/experience of both Grunger86 & Yumeyao that winnt32 initiated installs of RVMI builds using Ryan's pack will fail on those file errors. Although, from my experience, the issue seems to be with RVMI not with Ryan's update pack. I receive the same file errors with both Ryan's (Post SP3) and OnePiece's (AIO 1.52) packs when initiated through winnt32 after building with RVMI. I do not receive the errors when initiating through winnt32 after building with nlite (1.48 - I have not tested with 1.49 yet).

I have not tested using a CD based install (not recently) but, the last install I performed ~ month ago ~ using a CD did not have any problems when building using either RVMI or nlite....

So, FWIW, the issue may well be Sigi's RVMI and not Ryan's Post-SP3.....

I don't know, but these two shouldn't be integrated together. Pick one or the other, not both.

I goofed on that one, but did not have problems with how the fonts looked during install. I'll take one of them out on my next run.

Crosspost from the SP2 thread as a general FYI:
I've got both the Post-SP2 and Post-SP3 packs in sync right now. I've been very aggressive this week in getting both almost ready for release so that as soon as soon as I get home from work on Tuesday, I can add the new security updates and get the packs released.

In other words, I'm expecting to release both updated packs on Tuesday.
