Is the software dead?

Post by xpsunny » Sat Dec 13, 2008 9:13 am

Hi all,

It has been 3 months that there are no updates to the packs. Microsoft has released lots of updates for Windows XP SP3. When will the software development be resumed?

All is not dead. Ryan has a lot on his life.
Check this thread for updates.

Does that imply that it's a one man work?

you can feel free to use Update packs made by others:

OnePiece
Redxii
Xable

just to name a few, RyanVM is not the only pack available.

I've always used Ryan's update pack but would like an alternative that's similar to Ryan's. From what I understand, Xable's pack is just hotfixes and that's it. Ryan's has hotfixes and some additional extras as stated at the bottom of his list of includes for the pack. Redxii's pack looks identical to Ryan's except he includes Microsoft Update and Windows Update. Onepiece is a fully loaded update pack with IE7, WMP11 and WGAV etc..

Am I correct on describing the update packs above? If so, then I assume Redxii's pack may be right for me as an alternative to Ryan's. If I'm wrong, then could someone please write a small description of the differences?
