Hi,
Is the UpdatePack not yet uploaded to MSFN.ORG server ?

HTTP link gives a 404 error:
"/files/RVMUpdatePack2.0.1.cab" was not found on this server

BitTorrent is working properly.

Yeah, me too, got the same error.

Unfortunately, my setup would not allow a BitTorrent connection. So HTTP server is my only way.

Thanks.

Hello Ryan,

The following line may be missing at [KB893803.AddReg] in RVMUpPck.inf:

HKLM,"%SP3UPDATES%\KB893803\Filelist\1","BuildCheckSum",0,"230ba"

BTW, msxml6 is available now.

I wasn't snapping at you. I was just saying that we've discussed on this forum before how I feel about mirrors. Plus there's the note on my site saying not to mirror the files.

But if you think that was snapping at you, you seriously need to loosen up a bit ;)

if it's there i sure didn't see it i've only been around since just before 2.0 and i'm only trying my best to help you. I didn't know you felt dislike toward mirrors.
Also, please do not modify/redistribute any of the files on this site without first getting my consent to do so.
Mirroring on your forum isn't really considered redistribution as seeing the files and links aren't really going anywhere but your site... oh well.

I'll end it here and go back into the silence now.

For the record, it won't hurt anything being missing, so you don't have to rush to download it either.

Dear Ryan,
does we need to slipstreaming new WinXP SP2 with new Ryan Pack? Each time it is release? or update from Previous SP2 with Older Ryan Pack?

I have reading around the MSFN forum and it sound like Ryan Pack cannot use together with BTS Drivers pack? Is it true?

Sorry for asking stupid question here.... but the answer of it will save a lot of time trying it out... Thanks

The answer's in the "Integrator" instructions linked in the original post... ;)

They can be used together - I do. Remember to integrate Ryan's packs first.

Cheers,

Andy

You shouldn't have any problems integrating 2.0.1 over 2.0.0, but consider that to be the first suspect if any problems arise with the CD.

No, and I'm not planning on doing so either. What part of "It's not a significant problem" don't you get? It'll be fixed in the next release.

EDIT: And regarding the off-topic posts that came after this, they've been removed and the discussion has been taken to PM where it should have been all along.

The INF entry in question is only needed for qfecheck and other programs which use the registry to determine which hotfixes are installed. It has no impact on Windows Update or SFC (SFC doesn't care about the registry at all, you're confusing different issues).

The Malicious Software Removal Tool has gotten a slight version increase (from 1.10.907 to 1.10.911). I've run it on my computer and the registry key didn't change. Since the KB article makes no mention of it and it doesn't appear to be seen as a different version as far as the computer/MU/WU6/MBSA is concerned, I'm not going to put out a new update pack for it.

I tried make integration Update Pack 2.0.1 and RVMAddonsWMP10_1.3.cab by two way:
1) all together in one step
2) separetitly, two steps: first update pack, second WMP10
end find diferents in two files and all atributies in I386 dir!
The differens in files are also arhive atributers whitch was packed in .in_ files.
Why its heppend?

Sorry for posting here...but the Update Pack 2.0.0 topic was closed.

I just installed XP-sp2 integrated with Update Pack 2.0.0 and WMP10_1.3.cab and some other addons...in my sytem hardware list all the 4 USB Root Hub devices have an exclamation. Did anyone get this after installation? Am i missing some USB drivers that don't come with the Update Pack 2.0.0?
I have an Asus P4PE motherboard and installed the Intel chipset and Intel Application Accelarator already. No usb devices were connected when i did the installation. Anyone can give any advice? Thanks.

Did you remove the CAT files when you integrated? If so, it's expected. Do a search, others have posted that exact same problem before.

Not sure what you mean with removing the CAT files. I just created my cd by manually integrating SP2 in the original XP cd first...then used your Integrator 1.0.2 to integrate the update pack 2.0.0 and some addons at the same time. Hmmm...i see now there is a checkbox on the integrator... I did NOT select the remove CAT files in the Intergrator...just used the default.

Ryan, is there a chance you will put

Update for Windows XP HighMAT Support in CD Writing Wizard (KB831240)

and

Windows XP Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)

in your main update pack? Those are the only two updates, besides .NET1.1/2.0 and WMP10, that appear at Windows/Microsoft Update after a fresh install. I know those two come in addons, but it would be more convenient to have them in the main pack. Just wondering.

I suppose if there we enough demand for it, I could put HighMAT back into the main pack. However, you're the first person to ask so far :P

As for WGA, I might consider it yet. It would be the unhacked version, of course.

Hi,

I currently use a seperate addon to integrate authentic WGA and a hacked RVMAddons to add HighMAT (I do not add non-MS products from this addon).

Obviously I have a working system in place, but I would be happy for both these features to be integrated into a future update pack as it would simplify things for me personally. Just wanted to make sure that ViVa's view didn't come across as a solitary voice.

Cheers,

Andy

As for Windows/Microsoft Update it doesn't really matter if it's the hacked or unhacked version, since you can easily disable it at the Add-ons section of IE and you can receive updates anyway. But of course the unhacked version in your pack, yes. I think in the perspective of having 0 updates (besides .NET and WMP) after a fresh install it would be very nice to have them both in your main pack.

Hey ppl, let us hear your opinions about this please? Just say "Yes, we would like to have those 2 updates in the main pack! Thank you Ryan!". :P

Your modded update pack? And where can I find that one?
Yet still it's a good idea imo to put them in Ryan's main pack anyway, why not?
