I vote no, an alternative burning app is better imo.

But if it did go in i could always just take it back out. :D

*sigh*, like as if you are using/needing _every_ update from Ryan's pack? It's the same as installing an update for Outlook Express while you are using Mozilla Thunderbird. It won't bother, since it are just .dll files getting updated BEFORE installing XP. I'm not using HighMAT either, that's not the point.

Well drr, that goes without saying.

I don`t want highmat in that`s my choice, end of.

This is a poll that`s my opinion.

I know it's your opinion, but I find it a bit inconsistent, unless you remove _all_ the things you don't use, like e.g. Outlook Express updates (I take it you don't use that). But once again, no harm done, just some .dll's are updated in advance. But ok, your opinion. :)

I remove most things i don`t use, while it`s not possible to remove _ALL_ stuff i don`t use why add more stuff i`m not gonna use.

Once again, i say leave it out. Keep the UDP for hotfixes and the other stuff in addons.

P.S. I just remembered Link lol and it`s in ryans pack. Link

It doesn't really matter either way to me. It can be fine as an addon. Which has allready been made. That way a user has a choice wether to have it or not.

I'm personally leaning towards just WGA, but I could go either way (I mean, HighMAT was originally in my update pack :P).

i say, leave wga and highmat to the addons, that way whoever wants them has the option to put them to their source. that way its kept as a matter of prefference.

Just WGA for me. I think I've stated my opinion regarding this already. :)

OK, I just changed my vote from "Yes" to "No". They argue well who say that the UDP is built for Hotfixes and Addons and Program Addons are sui generis -- they are "their own thing" and the thing of those who choose them because they really want them in their setup. "For everything, there is a season ... and a reason."
In just the last two weeks, the Unattended CD project has been rapidly evolving in the direction of greater, and more individual, choice. The tools are great, they're stable and much used to create Setups of lasting value. People are starting to make addons (or ask for addons to be made) that integrate readily using the same tools that integrate the service packs. Bring it on, I say. Let it continue this way to saturation point. Let the UDP and its updates be the foundation, without redundancy, of many personalized variants using addons, uberaddons and program addons and tweaks that people choose according to desire or need.

Lavish praise to those of you who are doing the heavy lifting here! Msfn.org is the site with more useful knowledge than any other I have ever encountered.

Damn ^^^ Those are some fine words, But what did you actualy say :P

Highmat works fine as an addon but i feel wga should be part of the pack, It means that the user is not presented with any required updates when they visit WU or MU.

Also it has the bonus of removing those posts from users who dont understand what they are being asked to download and think the pack has failed.

Including WGA for sure. Assuming of course the hacked addon works the same like you said.

I think HighMAT should be included with the main update pack again. It if a hotfix and it has a KB article. I think it should definitely be included, even if just to keep MU happy.

For the record, leelamb, I think you've delivered the point quite eloquently. I agree with you. But the reason for WGA is necessity on Microsoft's behalf; and now it is ours too, unfortunately.

I would say yes if it weren't for the fact that Microsoft has released at least three builds of WGA this year. I'm not sure if WU is still compatible with the original, but if it is then I say yes. I don't even know what HighMat is.

I don't see how having to update WGA from time to time is any different from me updating MRT every month...

WGA will be in the next pack and HighMAT will remain an addon.
