Thanks
Gonna test it as soon as I can.

Gonna test it as soon as I can.
Both, integrated (T-13 install) but also tried installing XP just with post SP3 pack and then run the installer manually after XP was done installing.jaynbe wrote:Did you integrate the addon after, or just ran the installer on a clean system.post clean install, after everything is done and the system has rebooted, the bug is still there after installing the addon.
I tested running the installer on a clean system and had no png bug.

There have allways been errors around since early days installing dotNet at T13.
These errors are considered as non critical for average client systems.
WebClient service for WebDAV is one of them; therefor it is set to manual startup.
Microsoft developed the dotNet install routine to be run after first boot.
This is because at T13 the Windows XP setup is not complete.
For a clean error free installation it should be run RunOnce(Ex) or live.
The latest posted addons only update the VC runtimes and fix the .png thumbnail bug.

Both are fine; installing after OOBE will allways be OK.
The installer contains also the RunOnceEx routine.
You can have it installed automatically at first boot.
You have to edit the Entries_dnf_ini and change this:
"DOTNETFX.EXE -gm2 -ai -qn -nf" TO "DOTNETFX.EXE -gm2 -ai2"
Recompress the addon and use as usual; it will execute ROE.

Is another T13-error caused by XP network not yet configured at T13 stage.Error in windows logfile [Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable -- Error 1316
This is only an error notification; this won't affect final setup.
Microsoft_LegacyVB+VC_Runtimes_AddOn.7z [Link don't work]
TRUE Addon Microsoft Legacy Runtimes
is not integrated in the Framework addons?
And what is its function?
(Necessary for integrating ATI drivers, when using driverpacks?)
Is outdated now, it will be replaced soon
These are all the other (older) MS runtimes to complete the VC8+9+10
Some older apps may need them (apps develloped with VS2003 for ex.)
Anyway New Framework Addons (incl. VC++) to come. (Short of time at the moment)

If you can't wait, you can perfectly use the NLD_Addons in an
ENU distro and after first boot uninstall the langpacks in ARP.
I never tested in Server2k3 but I mostly test Addons in XP_ENU.

Few new updates:
- Essential: KB2539636 (FW4 security update) and KB2539631 (FW2 SP2 security update)
- Optional: KB2468871 and KB2533523 (both FW4 update)
- KB2565063 (Security update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010)
In addition to that, MS Update failed to install all three FW4 updates on both my laptop and my moms computer. Not sure why, but on my moms computer I removed all of v4 with the cleaner tool and reinstalled it. On my laptop I used the standalone installers for those updates found at MS Catalog.
Both methods solved it. Has this got something to do with using the AIO installer or is this unrelated?
Same issue present with just updated XP installation source and clean install, Framework AIO 20110623. Now doing a clean install with 20110724, see if that one also has this issue.
edit: clean install with 20110724 done, same issue. MS Update says errorcode 0x643 with all three FW4 updates.
Updates remain present at MS Update, even after a succesfull install using the standalone installers from MS Catalog.
Another edit: with the MS .NET NGEN Framework service enabled no errors using MS Update to install those updates, but they remain available on MS Update eventhough they are installed.

The update problems with .Net Frameworks are common issues even with non slipstreamed systems.
Hard to say what may be causing it, sometimes it may even be the MS updates itself causing it.
I get it often on workstations with small corruptions caused by other installed software.
See MS support: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982
Between versions 20110724 and 20110623, the only difference is in the webclient service startup
You can also try the "MS Fixit 50735" : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2570538
or run these cmd before applying the dNet4 updates:

WFM, mates. You can manually download that update, extract the msp, run it with parameter:
/lv*x somefilename.txt
Them attach the log somewhere.
MsI is complicated, more is msp. Everything in msI is documented and manipulatable. But many of msp are undocumented and transparent. I gamble 99% of MS packing technicians are unaware of msI structure, no mentioning msp. So that is no wonder they always fool people.

That Framework updates can be a pain in the butt is something I am already aware of, but it's just so weird that I managed to install them eventually on both my laptop and my moms pc but not in the clean (Windows) install with the newest post SP3 pack in VMWare Workstation.
I'll have a look at those links tomorrow, see if there's something in there that will help.
Or I could wait till those updates are in the Framework addon
yumeyao:
Could try that too, but I don't see how that will help since the installers said install was okay, even though the updates remain at MSUpdate.
And if I remember correctly, I saw them in the software+updates list in the configuration screen of Windows (but have to check to be 100% sure). So they are installed, but... MSUpdate says not? Weird shit again MS, how do you keep doing that

OK, so for those who can't wait for a Microsoft fix, here is the problem:
After patching dotNet4, Microsoft Update will still show these updates as missing:
KB2539636, KB2468871-v2 and KB2533523 (note that KB2533523 is a june hotfix).
This is NOT ONLY a problem for the Addon installer, but a general update bug:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... 5134183639
Untill now this is still not fixed and Microsoft only suggests to uninstall
dotNet4 and manually reinstall the framework AND the concerning hotfixes.
The AIO_Addon is fully patched, but will show the hotfixes as missing updates.
Note that it is allways possible to hide these manually in the Update webpage.
