Finding localized build checksums and dates

Post by nonno fabio » Fri Jul 06, 2007 5:32 am

In addition to searching in windows registry every single file (or exporting the whole "Updates\sp3\" branch) after hotfix is applied, is there a faster method to extract build checksums from QFE files?

I tried the tool named PEKS but it works only with single files and it doesn't support asterisks. I wish something who processes a whole folder at one time

thanks

I use a batch file and PEchecksum (thanks n7epsilon):

Code: Select all

FOR %%f IN (*.*) DO (Echo>>pe.txt pechecksum -p "%%f"
pechecksum -p "%%f">>pe.txt)
and simply read your PE sums in pe.txt

Yeah I also think pechecksum is the best method. :)

I am currently working on a tool to output

<filename>,<fileversion>,<modifieddate>

in same format as used in INFfiles.

I want to add PEchecksum too. hang on for updates ;)
