WPI sif and tools please advise a.s.a.p. many thanx!

Post by the_doc735 » Thu Aug 17, 2006 9:30 am

...in the WPI usermanual it says to download the tools seperately which I have done!
Do I need to add these tools to the TOOLS folder on the CD image (e.g. PEiD.exe....etc etc)?? At the moment it only contains: Sleep, reschange and fonts!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, in the winnt.sif file in the [data] section (for manual control of format and partitioning) do I just chage autopartion=1 to 0?
OR
Do I need to delete the other entries in that section as well?

In the [unattended] section do I just add: FileSystem=* ???
OR
Do I need to delete the other entries in that section as well???
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

many thanks! (in advance)

Answer to first question= No
The tools are not needed to run WPI.(they can be helpfull however).

My WINNT.SIF looks like this, and it will give you the option to choose which partition to install to.
You can delete and create partitions to.

Code: Select all

[Data]
    AutoPartition=0
    MsDosInitiated="0"
    UnattendedInstall="Yes"

[Unattended]
    UnattendMode=FullUnattended
    OemPreinstall=Yes
    OemSkipEula="Yes"
    TargetPath = "Windows"
    DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
    NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
    UnattendSwitch="yes"

The integrator utalizes wpi without the need for winnt.sif for runonceex and/or svcpack options. ;)

Uhh, that's cool.
If I drop the WPI folder into the plugin folder (since I already have it downloaded) will that work/be accepted with integrator 1.41 ?
Also wondering, heard that Netframework can't be installed via svcpack.
Since I have that in my WPI setup, should I choose runonceex then, or does that not matter ?
