Thank you Fabio, yes, I know the DXUPAC, I use it to build updated IE installers, even for XP x64. You've added this feature by my suggestion Image

That huge list of updates is the issue... No one ever made a tool to automatically download all of them on the choosen language? This would be awesome and could help a lot of new update packs to appear. There are still very few localized packs...

Hi Nonno Fabio, back after a looooong time being away, and was curious about Onepiece's AIO pack. What does it include that user_hidden's pack does not? I gathered it was:

* IE8
* WMP11
* DirectX
* DotNet 1.1/3.0/4.0?
* EDIT: I guess MSXML 4.0/6.0?
* ???

Thanks, and sorry if this question has been asked a million times, I did actually search for the answer but did not find it!

Problems integrating onepiece pack - iacenc.dll

Post by kauppila » Fri Aug 31, 2012 2:43 pm

I have been having a problem the last couple months and I am not sure why.
I take a clean XP sp3 base CD. I run the RVM integrator tool and add the onepiece pack.

But when I perform the install, I get an error:
Setup cannot copy the file: iacenc.dll
I check the source and the file exists (well iacenc.dl_ does at least)

Has anyone else had a problem with this?

the file in question belongs to KB2661637 (added 6 months ago), I do not know why you find problems ???, however try to remove this line

Code: Select all

iacenc.dll   = 100,,,,,,_x,44,0,0,iacenc.dll
from entries.ini in update pack, or from txtsetup.sif in WINXP_CD\I386\

Ciao.

That did the trick. It makes sense since I have had this problem with the packs from June on, and I think I missed doing May and April.

Thanks a bunch and have a great weekend!

Please use also Skydrive or Google Drive links for download, not only Dropbox one as it can't stand excessive traffic.

Optional MS components are showed in Windows Components Wizard and they're easily removable from there.

Hotfixes are integrated in Windows CD as a real MS service pack so you can't see and remove anything as the older files don't exist anymore

hi nonno, i've been using your update pack for some time now, so thanks

some questions i have
1. does the pack include package installer (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=898461)? isn't that required for Win Update?
i see that it's listed in http://voidseesaw.com/onepiece/HotfixList.html, but i can't find it in the changelog

2. the pack doesn't include VC8/9/10 right? is there any particular reason for doing so, i find quiet alot of apps use them, especially VC9

3. i like to use winnt.sif [component] for preventing installation of optional components. is the list on page 1 lists ALL optional components in the current pack? it's just because you marked the list as of year 2009

thx

@bun
KB898461 is not in the changelog as it was present since first updatepack release and you can see that WindowsUpdate doesn't ask for it if you have used Onepiece's UpdatePack. Anyway XP uses v6.3.0015.0 included in SP3 and not the hotfix one v6.1.22.4: see [WinSE.Setup.Files] section in OPMWXPUP.inf.

VC 2005 and 2008 are included as they're inside older .nets (see netf*.inf files). .net 4.0 doesn't use VC anymore so VC 2010 is not present.

It has been a while since MS has released latest optional component for XP. So they are always the same:
Image
I've refreshed first page though

luna.theme background wrong path

Post by stsaerox » Tue Oct 09, 2012 10:02 am

Did you change by mistake in the luna.theme file the default background image path? I get wrong path to the default image..

Code: Select all

[Control Panel\Desktop]
Wallpaper=%WinDir%web\wallpaper\Bliss.bmp
Maybe it is my mistake but I've already checked the files coming from me and I thought that maybe something wrong from update pack..

There are no hotfixes or updates inside UpdatePack modifying luna theme.
You can verify it by yourself because you won't find no luna.the (luna.theme) or luna.mst (luna.msstyles) files inside

Guys there a problem with last Update Pack, nLite & RVMI fail to integrate, This is because they can not extract it properly, how could this happen, history and as always I create update pack, integrate it in a CD WinXPSP3 Clean, and then I make a test VM, and if after all Ok, I put the link OnLine, but yesterday after all the tests and saw that everything was OK in VM,, after well by coincidence download and install the new 7-Zip 9.29 Alpa, and doing some tests I see that the new Update Pack with 7-Zip 9.29 was 1-2 MB less, so or extracted and stored again with the new 7-ZIP in LZMA2 mod, and then uploaded them ect ect

to put everything in place need to download the new 7-Zip 9-29 Alpa http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzi ... ic/5634786 after install or extract ect ect, but from the new 7-Zip need to take the new 7z.exe

after for those who use nLite serves replace the 7z.exe (v9.29) with one located in the directory of the installation of nLite

Instead, for those who use RVMi serves rename the new 7z.exe (v9.29) in 7zdn.exe and after replacing the 7zdn.exe in the Plugins folder which is located in the directory where he works RVMi

or here are
7z.exe & 7zdn.exe v9.29
Image Update (10 October 2012)
Image Update (10 October 2012)
Image Update (10 October 2012)
Hash MD5 3FAF803113F19768B9FB821A80A3433C
Filesize: 209 KB (214930 bytes)

or extract update pack, and after archive with the 7-zip official version or with Winrar ect ect and after integrate normally

sorry again for my English

when will enter online Nonno Fabio tell everything more well

sorry again, Ciao a tutti

the problem is not the 7-zip v9.29 but LZMA2 mod, so RVMi & nLite do not support LZMA2 mod, because they use old 7-zip tools

RVMi and Ok also with the 7zr.exe, if download the 7zr.exe http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/projec ... 2_extra.7z rename in 7zdn.exe and then use that

ENU updatepack works flawlessly as usual and you can safely download it from first post.

noob quesiton here ...

when I integrate and build iso, do I need to include the DOTNETFX\ directory on the hologram CD in my source? (i.e. integrate and compile iso with both \I386 and \DOTNETFX directories?)

The DOTNETFX\ dir on hologram CD contains .net 1.1 and 1.1sp1 (to my best guess anyway). It's 40 meg, so maybe it's redundant since there's a NetFx11.cab in I386\? (but it's only 13 meg)

thanks guys ... very helpful for me!

I know its frowned upon these days... but u can do it with nlite components... multimedia and operating system options

IMO this is a 'proper' AIO pack, comparatively speaking. Flash and .NET update core components, windows media player updates as well. Anything else makes this mismanaged and bloated like the other AIO packs out there..

Because this is properly constructed and managed, I have continued supporting it and using it going on ~3.6 years. The only issues I've ever hit were with .NET updates.

keep up the good work, this pack stands out amongst all the others, and that's saying something!

RESPECT AND THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT UPDATE PACK!!!

Just one question. I have installed in two different PCs the last pack integrated with a clean XP SP3 CD and everything works fine except one thing: Both computers do not turn the monitor to sleep mode when I shut down XP. I receive a message about "no signal" in my monitor instead of automatically turning it off to "power saving". Previously, I had no such problem as far as I remember. Is this a problem with my XP setup or I should look elsewhere?

That seems to be an issue with your monitors' power settings, not an issue with the operating system.

or it could be driver-related and in this case I'm pretty sure that UpdatePack is not involved as driver files are merely updated and nothing else.
Maybe (but I never see this) a failed integration has damaged driver.cab file or, if you use Nlite, it has not restored correctly signed Syssetup.dll file. You could try a new integration on the clean XP CD and updatepack only using RVMi, then compare the behavior with the standard XP setup

The update pack (November 2012) is excellent, Onepiece. Keep up the good work! I'd like to report a problem though.After installation, SQL Server 2005 / 2008 Express cannot be successfully installed. The error that occurs seems to be a result of problematic .NET 2.0 integration.

I have created my own XP slipstreamed disk which installed manually the .NET 4 + Updates first then .NET 2/3/3.5 + Updates in the T-9 minutes phase of the GUI-mode setup. To trick the .NET 2 into installing I temporarily changed HKLM\SYSTEM\SETUP\SystemSetupInProgress value to 0, plus deleted the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW
key prior to installing .NET 2.0.
After setup completed SQL Server installed properly.

I hope this helps.

thank you for this pack.
I too have got a big problem after installation. somehow the OS freezes when I try to open some applications.
I'm still searching out why this happens, but may be it could be the problem mentioned above.
I will try to sort out all possible causes and report here.

For a complete answer we need the error code but it's very unlikely such errors are caused by updatePack itself or optional components installed in True mode, as .net 2, but by some setups not designed to be installed/configured at T-13 stage. If you need to force or modify the system to install them, means that they're not compatible with a Svcpack installation. Try a SQL Server RunOnceEx addon or install it after windows setup and see if there is the same behavior.
No software is installed by windows setup after T-13; after T-13 Windows start to do other configurations but doesn't run any SW setup. If a setup is still executed at T-9, probably the setup routine of Svcpack addon is so heavy and long that Windows didn't wait anymore for its completion and carried on. If so, better install it after Windows setup.
Anyway, for a flawless installation, any Svcpack addon or setup which has something to do with .Nets should always be done with a Config file like this:

Code: Select all

;!@Install@!UTF-8!
RunProgram="hidcon:reg copy HKLM\\SYSTEM\\Setup HKLM\\SYSTEM\\Setup\\SSIPRS /f"
RunProgram="hidcon:reg add HKLM\\SYSTEM\\Setup /v SystemSetupInProgress /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f"
;RunProgram="SetupName.msi /QN REBOOT=ReallySuppress"
;RunProgram="SetupName.exe /Silent etc."
RunProgram="hidcon:reg copy  HKLM\\SYSTEM\\Setup\\SSIPRS HKLM\\SYSTEM\\Setup /f"
RunProgram="hidcon:reg delete HKLM\\SYSTEM\\Setup\\SSIPRS /f"
GUIMode="2"
;!@InstallEnd@!

Thanks for your prompt response nonnofabio. I always install Microsoft SQL Server Express after Windows setup completes. My reference to T-9 was about another custom disk I created to install .NET Framework during setup (without your update pack), which has no problems.

The Visual Studio 2010 Setup log shows error code -2068643839
I think I have found somewhere on the Web that the problem can be solved by unistalling .NET 4, 3.5,3, and finally 2, and then installing .NET 4 first, .NET 2/3/3.5 afterwards.

Right now I am trying to create a patch to do this exact thing.

In a svcpack installation if you must manually delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW key means that you don't have admin rights in system at the moment (read here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums ... 2e21a348d9). If so, config file should be solve everything.

If you install Microsoft SQL Server Express after Windows setup instead, try Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=30135 and see if this can solve the issues. Probably the problem is one of these (I guess first one):

I tried running the .NET Repair tool, but the repair operation failed - the tool created a dump cab file for analysis.

Operation was done in a virtual machine immediately after Windows XP Setup completed, to minimize the possibility of software conflicts.

The FixDotNet.log file in the created cabinet contains:

the most important thing confirmed by this .net Repair Tool verbose log is that all .Nets are OK in your system:

Code: Select all

INFO: Product 'Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile' is installed.
INFO: Product 'Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended' is installed.
INFO: Product 'Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2' is installed.
INFO: Product 'Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2' is installed.
INFO: Product 'Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1' is installed.
It is normal that .Net Repair tool warns of some errors like:
- 0x80070666 or -2147023258 = Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.
- 0x80070002 or -2147024894 = The system cannot find the file specified.
- 0x800C0005 or -2146697211 = The system cannot locate the resource specified.
as during windows setup .Nets are not installed but integrate in "true" mode, so .Net Repair Tool can't find the setup.msp files, duplicate files and redundant registry entries you get when you run the standalone installer and following updates.

So we keep supposing that your problems is not caused by .Nets. In a test we see that files registered by Sql Server as:

Code: Select all

After a fast web search seems that this error code is not associated to .Net. For example,

It is possible this happened the first times after dotnet 4 was released (clr_optimization_v4.0.30319_32 from dotnet4 was set as default and clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32 wasn't able to register .net 2.0 related files no more) but this have been already fixed by Microsoft and these kind of issues aren't present in .net 3.5 + 4 anymore.
Furthermore, if a problem comes from Dotnet you should see a behavior like this:

xps viewer

Post by molecule » Tue Dec 11, 2012 4:17 am

Is the xps viewer included in .net 3.0/3.5 for XP in the AIO updatepack?

I'm trying to open xps file. MS for Vista (link ) says Control Panel> Programs> Programs-Features> Turn on-off> look for XMS Viewer under MS .Net Framework 3.0. I can't find it in XP control panel ... Components says .Net 3.0 is installed, but I can't find xps viewer.

I see there has been some discussion about xps on the forum, but mostly for Vista and 7 it seems.

For XPsp3 +AIO, do I (?) need to install Microsoft XML Paper Specification Essentials Pack? It has reader and writer.

Any chance it will conflict with xps viewer in .net 3.0 which is already in AIO? Any thoughts?

Simply download XPSEP XP and Server 2003 32 bit.msi (Microsoft XML Paper Specification Essentials Pack) file and you'll be OK.
It's a sort of Powertoys but Onepiece didn't add it to AIO pack as Microsoft Update ignores it but I think is an useful tool.

Ricktendo64 made an addon some times ago: search for it in Wincert or Ryan's forums

thanks nonno ... ricktendo64 added a new xps printer addon (ryanVM thread) a few weeks ago.

it includes KB971276-v3 but that is already in AIO ...
all others are w7, Vista, server ... etc.
one is server 03 (but not xp?)

kb2701894 = w7 + s08
kb2640459 = drivers (no kb)
kb971276-v3 = XPsp3 + s03 (already in AIO)
kb976932 = w7sp1 + s08r2sp1
kb977585 = s03sp2 + V + s08
kb2701894 = w7 + s08r2

tomasz86 tried some of the higher versions in 2000 but noticed some new dependencies that made him feel cautious. he stayed with lower (and matching) version numbers. xps might be already a more stable product in XP, compared with other OS

I didn't find anyone who tested ricktendo64's xps package in XP with AIO.

YumiYao has an xps updatepack at Wincert but he says it is incompatible with OnePieces's update pack (... he doesn't say which updatepack though). Again most of the files are Vista, 7 and above. Looks like MS msi might be the way to go ... 7-8 mb

this is my first encounter with xps, but I like the idea. pdf is getting way too bloated, spooky and proprietary ... like flash (arghh) ... and html should have been zipped from the start ... like vrml. I agree with you ... flash is in AIO, so ... why not C++ and xps? On othe rhand, the AIO is already a huge database for you and One Piece to maintain. C++ RTEs 8,9,10 are already stable and reliable as an addon. I'll try to integrate the MS xps installer as an addon as well. (... has anyone tried integration of MS installer for XPS with XPsp3+AIO? in nLite or RyanVMi? I don't have a developement level machine)

AIO, as it is, is a huge wonderful help ... it would be impossible for me (and many others if I may take indecent liberty to speak for them) and so I remain VERY VERY THANKFUL to you and One Piece! Blessings, and merry christmas, etc.

i'm clueless as to what i'm doing wrong :(

i've been using user-hidden's QFE Update Pack then added Onepiece IE8, WPM11, and .NET (among some self-made addons) for years and with the few day delay on his release, i'm trying out this Update Pack in the interim...

i know i've tried it in the past also, but i've never had much luck with it :(

i'm sure i'm missing something EASY, i'm just not seeing it...
i've done seven installs today, changing a variable here and there, but i can't get any of them to work...

by that, it's the winnt.sif [components] thingie that is NOT working for me...
i'm trying to NOT install BitLocker (whatever that is) and trying not to install .NET 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0...

no matter what i do, the extra .NETS are still being installed - what am i missing?

many thanks in advance...
