I received this error during a "live" install... not VMware... any other info I can give you that would be helpful to distinguishing the problem?nonno fabio wrote:@those who had Gacutil.exe error: it occured in a VM or in real machine too? Because we see it only with VMware... thanks

(2nd addon(svcpack)
To elaborate, I don't get the error with just the AIO, but I do get it with a combination of the AIO + either a culprit addon or rougespear installer. I am trying to narrow down what process is breaking this.Fragbert wrote:Still therenonno fabio wrote:

1st pass AIO 1.3.4
2nd pass DotNetFx_All_In_1_Addon_v2.1.7z only
No errors here. Great pack, Nonno and Onepiece!
RVMi is also a possible reason why many of us are having random issues with post SP3 update packs and addons. For instance, Kel's CPL bonus addon worked fine up till 8.2.6 with rvmi, every version since will give that dreaded missing icon desktop - but I have no issue integrating with nlite. Kel did change some tools to create the addon.Amitri wrote:ups, pass 3: adding some addons gives me some strange errors:

so will wait for profs to fix things...
Used that addon with other packs and never had problems. As of errors just those 2 mentioned here.compstuff wrote:Amitri I'm curious to know if you checked your event log for errors using the DotNet addon? After my integration with RogueSpears .NET 1.1 and then 3.5 via runonceex it all went fine and seems to run great but I noticed so many errors in the event log and I would have to research them to understand if they are real problems or not.Amitri wrote:Hi everyone, just tried this with RVMI:

Ok... well you're using an AIO .NET and not having problems... so that makes my question a moot point, 'cause I was only considering removing the .NET because of having problems when using this addon... but since you're not having issues with an AIO... then I shouldn't have issues if I do the same...compstuff wrote:Wish I could help you but I don't know the answer... VMWARETOOLS.EXE
SPTD.EXE (for daemon tools)
???
Gacutil.exe is already included in dotNET 1.x. Including a further copy in UpdatePack and registering it with dotNET 2.0 too causes all those error messages you've seen. Now we suggest to add to your XP source the dotNET version you need (1.x or 2.0/3.x or an AIO addon) and you'll see no more annoying messages.dolivas wrote:@nonno fabio So you guys removed the Gacutil.exe all together in the pack right? I just did a compare of 3.4 and 3.5 and the only changes I see are the removal of Gacutil.exe and the ini and inf changes for the gacutil.exe
Thanks
I don't get the dx specific error - I just get an advanced INF error (generic) at the end of the RunOnceEx script. How do I find the source of the error? Event log, setuperr and tmp directories leave no traces.bober101 wrote:no, its the case you have to throw out the window.
its the registration of direct x management to dotnet thats the problem, prolly each time its set to register dotnet at runonce but it dosent,so each boot it tries.

So far all went perfect... I am trying a few more options now and will report back
Same here with 135 + DotNetAIO.exe [GuiRunOnce] + some addons with nLite. Inf install Failure came before actual DotNet install at first logon.compstuff wrote:Well... I took item #4 from above and integrated a number of programs and to my disappointment I got the advanced inf failure: reason: access is denied
Also I noticed some strange IE behaviour... the first startup selections never set and it opens everytime... also the new tab message always repeats.
A few of the addons are not working properly including shockwave, Java and real player alt plus Spyware blaster didn't even install... I will check the addons and try a reduced #
