@nonno - I'll see what I can do about a screen shot of that anomaly. It really did only happen once on that computer. I'll see if I can replicate it, with a reinstall.

Onepiece's XP AIO UpdatePack includes only what is downloaded by Dxwebsetup.exe on a clean XP system.

We never tried to integrate a full DX addon along with UP and we don't know the consequences but I suggest you to wait for next pack version in a 4-5 days

No, I meant this addon : http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6010

Anyway I think I will just wait for 1.7.1

i read what you wrote in the start but i still dont understand some things
please answer my question if you can
1. can you please be specific on your update pack in comparison to ryan update pack?
2. are all ie7 updates are all the updates available for ie7? or are there more updates to ie7?
3. same question for media player
4. whats the difference between the tweaked version of booogie of media player than to what you included?
5. is this pack includes more updates than ryan includes in his pack? if so, what are those update?

i thank you so so very much if you can please answer my question
thank you!!!

1. In addition to what's in RyanVM's Updatepack, Onepiece's one includes IE7, WMP11, DX Updates, Silverlight, WGA plus several request-only hotfixes which RyanVM wisely considers not enough safe or useful to be added in a XP system.
2. (I guess) Onepiece's Pack includes all avaliable IE7 updates (public and request-only)
3. (I'm sure) Onepiece's Pack includes all avaliable WMP11 updates
4. Onepiece's WMP11 doesn't include any tweak.
5: Yes; you should compare RyanVM's and Onepiece's lists.

There will be a 1.8.0 with updates and bugfixes but there won't be Windows Media Encoder inside, because it isn't present in XP CD nor WindowsUpdate suggest to download it.

You could use an addon to integrate it. Maybe, if Onepiece will got enough time..

How to merge the splitted pack

Please post if the described issues with 1.7.0 are there again or not. Thanks.

Thanks for the update.
Can he, by any chance, remove the WGAN and leave only WGAV?

DL link temporarily removed, due to some misunderstanding with WU and a missing hotfix.

With Onepiece's Update Pack WGAN can be easily uninstalled from Windows Components Wizard in Control Panel. Then only WGAV will remain.

OK.
Btw, why did he added it?

Edit: I saw the poll on the ENG2ITA forum.
Is this related to his decision of adding the WGAN?

And a question, if you may answer; If I change the content of the pack, removing the WGAN without touching anything else, will the update pack be ruined in anyway?

I want the WGAV, I just don't need the WGAN.
I got a genuine licence. It's not the reason I don't want the WGAN.

OK, this is the very last time that I reply about WGAN (in PMs too).

The reason of this update pack is to be as "Zero-WindowsUpdate" as possible;
Windows Update calls for WGAN, so WGAN must be there.
Anyway only a few seconds are needed to easily remove WGAN from a working XP, even without genuine licence.
If you think you're able to, you can remove WGAV/N from UpdatePack

The poll in eng2ita forum is about WGA yes or no: no winned but WGA is always there and despite this, DL are increased. Seems that people grin and bear it just to have an updated AIO pack

I just asked questions... I didn't demand anything.

Speaking of WGA, I saw a newer version released (v1.8.32.0).

That also seems to be in conflict with the idea/goal behind the AIO pack, but in the opposite way.

(WGAN is included because WU lists it, WME9 is not included because WU does not list it).

Why can't you use a separate add-on for WME9?

I specify better: this Update Pack includes all what is listed in WU (if possible) and the updates of what is already present in default XP CD (like DX and request-only hotfixes).

@bober101: thanks; I think the issue is already fixed in upcoming 1.8.0

You might laugh at this but is there any way to put KB905474 back in?

I did try the RyanVM addon but for some reason, no, Windows Update still says I need KB905474.

Yes, I do appreciate this pack, but no matter what I do I always have this one update showing up.

OK thanks.

I did try the RyanVM addon but I think MS must have changed things again, it still shows up after using the WGA addon.

RyanVM WGA Addon 1.8.31.0

Surely MS wish they never foisted this crap on us! What benefit does it bring to anyone? All it does is damages Microsoft's reputation.

There is a newer version. See my previous posts.
I don't really know whether the new version is just for the WGAV or is it for WGAN too.

No, I don't.
Search google for "1.8.0032.0" and you'll see what I mean.
Maybe this new version is just for WGAV, or it is a newer pirated version of 1.8.0031.9.
I don't have enough time to check this thing...

UpdatePack 1.8.0 is back: They who downloaded it yesterday are kindly requested to delete it and download the newer one.

Please report if the described issues with 1.7.0 are there again or not. Thanks

P.S. Onepiece's main PC is K.O. (it's the WGAN curse...! :D ) : releases of other addons and U.P. may slightly slow down for a few days

Thanks again! (my system got unstable and I should reinstall sometime soon)

I'm still downloading (will take about 10 minutes it seems), but the link leads to a divShare website which has 1.8 in the description, but 1.7 in the filename...

Is this correct?
divShare wrote:Downloading OnePiece_Windows_XP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_v1.7z...
OnePiece_Windows_XP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_v1.8.0z
EDIT:

Download completed:
Entries.ini wrote:title=OnePiece's Windows XP Post-SP3 Update Pack
version=1.8.0
So it seems to be an error in the filename only?

EDIT2:

Only now I recognize the 7 as part of "7z" and not "1.7"... (still the ".8.0" part is missing)

yes, it's correct.
Divshare cuts the ".8.0" from filename shown. "7" is part of the extension ".7z"

The file is called:

OnePiece_Windows_XP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_v1.7z

It should be called:

OnePiece_Windows_XP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_v1.8.0.7z

I still get an error when opening the "User Accounts" option of the Control Panel for the second time (and all attempts after that) after each reboot (it only opens without error the first time after each reboot), while this works fine on my current install (which is probably 1.6.0 or older based).

The MTP device still works fine!

And out of curiosity I removed WGAN which seems to work fine...

Alternate download locations?

Post by Obaida » Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:34 pm

Is the latest version available for download anywhere other than divShare? I get the following when I click on the link in the first post:

"To view this file, upgrade your account!

This file is unavailable until Nov. 30, 2008 because the uploader's account has reached its download limit. You can access it immediately with a DivShare Personal account!"

Thanks in advance for any help.

This file is unavailable until Nov. 30, 2008 because the uploader's account has reached its download limit. You can access it immediately with a DivShare Personal account!

Could someone mirror this file to some other file sharing service?
