had the same problem with RDP for the first time, 5-6 minutes ago
just before googling a bit so I solved it by downloading and installing:
"WindowsXP-KB969084-x86-enu.exe"

For those interested in the easiest way to pass a modded Windows XP (such as ours, wellknowing the fact that modded XP fails to install even after an apparent successful pass to the USB stick, using classic tricks used for example for MS XP untouched iso) to a USB stick...using just a few clicks ...the software is called:
"WinSetupFromUSB"
also "Rufus", yet Rufus fails to boot on some rare occasions on laptops,
WinSetupFromUSB is guaranteed so you can switch from compact discs to USB memory sticks
No more those 12 thousand phases... manually copying things, creating a temp work folder yourself...using various batch preparations...and going up and down...just open:
"WinSetupFromUSB"
May I not be related to those who made this software.. I am merely content for the first time with such a software I looked for...wanting to share the pleasant experience here

Looks like this month really only brings KB2839229 for XP, which is a patched kernel. I suppose I could use the current update pack and integrate this update afterward?
I don't recall this update pack including any of the IE updates, but if it does for IE6, KB2838727 is out as well with an updated set of ie6 files, to correct a security hole.

I had a problem with a program not running (Ati Tray Tools) on a fresh WinXP + user_hidden QFE pack installation. So I reinstalled using YumeYao's MS Runtimes in addition and it worked. Ati tray tools requires VC8 which is supposedly included in yours.
I think Phlox was right a few months ago. Your pack is good at what it does and there are better separates out there for the separate needs.
Removing capicom and the rest will result in a smaller more robust pack.

hey now, i don't think it's our role to tell the creator how to create...
i admit that i'm not geeky enough to know what "capicom" even is, but i remember YEARS ago running with this update pack over others BECAUSE it has it and then Windows Update didn't report that i still needed more updates after my monthly install...
been running with this one ever since

My apologies.user_hidden wrote:@vix
vc8 is NOT included in the update pack
[EDIT: I've done some research and it seems that user_hidden's and YY's pack don't overlap too much, so you must probably ignore the rest]
Nevertheless, consider this
Until you decided to include more stuff in your pack, I knew I had to slipstream DirectX, YY's MS runtimes, Kel's rare runtimes and that's it.
Then I thought I could skip YY's runtimes since you now included MS runtimes as well.
But now it seems that I really need to include those runtimes too.
Which begs the question: since YY's pack is still updated by Ricktendo, why include a part of it in your pack ? Those who just need QFE would be better served by a pack without additional stuff (as it was a few months back) and those who need QFE and full runtimes available would still be better served by a pack without additional stuff (as it was a few months back) + a dedicated runtime pack.

Just checking. Thanks for all your hard work!

IF during the INSTALL STAGE and not the integration stage, i encounter these every once in a while if-and-only-if i BURN the dvd from nLite...
never had a problem for YEARS with nLite doing the burn...
but have in the last two or three months...
i've just "assumed" it to be my dvd burner "getting old", who knows...
for me, it's always with TXTSETUP.SIF, OEMBIOS.BIN, or WMP-don't-remember_dot_don't-recall...
when it happens, i take the same exact .ISO that nLite created, burn it a second time but not with nLite this time, and it works perfectly...

I can't get a clean install/integration using Ricks-YumeYao_IE8_Addon_Nosetuperr_ENU_1_4_24 addon.
Not sure what the problem is. See here.

yup vgx.dll is part of cumulative IE update.
however I don't think having the reg entries there or not should have no bearing on your issue. I have removed it locally.
