thanks for the heads up on that feature.dumpydooby wrote:You actually don't even have to archive it for RVMI. Maybe with nLite. But RVMI accepts Entries_*.ini files directly.
very interesting

yup reg updates are in the INF.yumeyao wrote:on KB2416400:
Did you miss the registry changes that came in KB2416400?
I'll download your pack to help check it.
Code: Select all
; KB971029
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers","IsAutorunForCDROMOnly",0x10001,1
; KB950582
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer","HonorAutoRunSetting",0x10001,1
both are in the update pack however the entries for KB950582 are in the KB955704 entries for extFat feature.ricktendo64 wrote: Check and make sure you have these registry entries, they could have been deleted

that is an IE update.vultureman wrote:I just downloaded this from mediafire today, created a disk from it, and I'm still getting KB2416400 as missing on MU.

Both packs say that they have the update. It was the order that the packs were integrated in nlite that was causing some issue.user_hidden wrote:that is an IE update.vultureman wrote:I just downloaded this from mediafire today, created a disk from it, and I'm still getting KB2416400 as missing on MU.
the pack contains IE6 and it's proper update, you integrated IE8 ontop of it.
the MU nag you are getting is for the IE8 version.
check the yumeyao IE8 addon you use that it contains the update.
it is also possible during integration a reg key is not being written becuse of some integartion failure.
Even though your problem may be solved, you should definitely integrate the updatepack first of all.It was the order that the packs were integrated in nlite that was causing some issue.
right, which is why changing the order so that the update pack installed first fixed the problem. I'll install the runtime packs, then this post-sp3 pack, then any other updates.jaynbe wrote:Even though your problem may be solved, you should definitely integrate the updatepack first of all.It was the order that the packs were integrated in nlite that was causing some issue.
This will integrate the latest files for Win XP SP3 with IE6 and WMP9.
Those will be overwritten by newer versions of the same files used by addons for IE8 and/or WMP11.
Inversely in another order you may get the newer files overwritten by older versions.
it will not work with my update pack.Bhishmar wrote:["Microsoft Update Disabler" Addon of MrNxDmx, to disable Microsoft update (Not windows update)
This addon used to be compatible with original Update-packs from Ryan till v2.2. Just wanted to know if it is applicable or even needed with UH-Pack?
Well I for one wouldn't want such functionality included in userhidden's pack - I'm very pleased to see it doesn't appear to be. Fine if you want to add it in as an extra, but most of us actually want the microsoft update page to work.Bhishmar wrote:"Microsoft Update Disabler" Addon of MrNxDmx, to disable Microsoft update (Not windows update)user_hidden wrote:Can you link me to the addon?Bhishmar wrote:Is there anybody still using the "Microsoft Update Disabler" Addon of MrNxDmx with UH update-Pack?

It seems to overwrite DataStor.edb file with an empty one.
As per my understanding, it aims to remove MU shortcut from startmenu, & also prevents going to MU automatically when you open http:://windowsupdate.com.
